In Singapore, the death penalty is mandatory for drug trafficking offenses. And President Trump loves it. He?s been telling friends for months that the country?s policy to execute drug traffickers is the reason its drug consumption rates are so low.

"He says that a lot," said a source who's spoken to Trump at length about the subject. "He says, 'When I ask the prime minister of Singapore do they have a drug problem [the prime minister replies,] 'No. Death penalty'."

But the president doesn't just joke about it. According to five sources who've spoken with Trump about the subject, he often leaps into a passionate speech about how drug dealers are as bad as serial killers and should all get the death penalty.

Trump tells confidants a softer approach to drug reform ? the kind where you show sympathy to the offenders and give them more lenient sentences ? will never work.

He tells friends and associates the government has got to teach children that they'll die if they take drugs and they've got to make drug dealers fear for their lives.

Trump has said he would love to have a law to execute all drug dealers here in America.

Where I live our drug dealers have PhD's and work in a doctors office and our drugs are clean & pure from the pharmacy.

I have to admit that I am a big fan of singapore and I agree with their death penalty for serious crimes other than selling drugs...in singapore if you rob a bank or something like that you get whipped and then hanged...they have virtually no crime...you get whipped for littering on the street...

singapore has a unique approach to dealing with crime...the first page of a newspaper had a mugshot of a guy who got caught pissing in a building entrance and the other picture was of him being whipped....they printed info about him and how he is a scumbag who pisses on public property etc...

front page stuff...not trump, not world events, not kardashians...but a guy caught pissing...

the next day they printed a front page story about vandalism...there were these 4 lions made out of paper mache...they were like 3-4 meters long and one of the lions got knocked over...I shit you not it was front page news about vandalism and how it is a disgrace and outrage that somebody would do this to a public display...the lions were really pretty I went to see them the next day LOL

this is why they have such control over crime...public awareness and focus...

well that's the problem with the death penalty... people get wrongly convicted and you can't take it back if you kill them.

I'm not completely against it. Some criminals definitely deserve it for their crimes. but only violent offenders makes sense and the evidence has to go above and beyond reasonable doubt.
