a Kinf of a weird think to ask, but I guess everybody is wondering with the political climate: Who Would Win a United States-Russia Naval War? | Maritime Herald

If I remember correctly, someone mentioned this site trying to drop a crypto miner.

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

In a conventional war, it wouldn't even be close. The US has 11 aircraft carriers. Russia has one. The US has 62 destroyers while Russia has about a dozen.

I would think the United States would win - for four reasons.

1) The Russian Navy is not a blue water navy. A blue water navy is a navy that can operate anywhere in the world. The Russian Navy cannot operate anywhere in the world, which leads to point number two....

2) The Russian Navy has a lack of overseas Navy bases. In fact, the only Russian naval base outside of Russia is in Syria. (Which is difficult enough for them to get to.)

3) The Russian Navy was in a period of decline after the cold war... Spending was greatly reduced, ships were scrapped, and new ship building completely stopped. Due the lack of building and scrapping of ships, ships in use have continued in use well past their expected date of use.

4) The Russian Navy has only one aircraft carrier. While it's easy to dismiss an aircraft carrier saying a submarine could easily take them out, the truth is they are pretty well protected. Warplanes sent from aircraft carriers would be used to take out ships hundreds of miles away.

One of my favorite books about naval warfare is about the UK and the Falklands war, which was mostly a naval battle. The UK had to deploy a naval fleet thousands of miles to the Falkland islands. While the British Navy is considered a blue water navy, it was very difficult for them to do this.

Our military is by far more powerful and more advanced, it always has been.
But when one submarine can take out the east coast, no one wins

It could never happen for two reasons.

1. Russia has zero interest in invading or occupying the US
2. USA has zero interest in invading or occupying Russia

For forty years it has been nothing but flexing bullshit and its practically embarrassing either nation still wastes money on such arms these days as no other nation has any interest in invading them either.

"Assuming" US & Russia could have "just" a Naval war which included only Naval assets (naval assets include carriers which include aircraft) It would be a easy victory by the US due to not just technology advantage but also straight up numbers advantage.

The US could dominate Russia in any "conventional" war due to straight up numbers advantage. Not to mention US has logistical advantage and Russia would be lock out of all ports, making it a very short fight.

The only thing that gives Russia any sort of fight back ability is nuclear weapons. Nuclear is the great deterrent because conventional armies don't matter just that you have enough nukes to make the other guy hurt very badly. This is why no major nuclear power will ever fight one another.

Right now Russia would win. Chump wouldn't order our fleets into battle as he's a russian CUCK.

Underwater drones even without nukes which resurface from depths can destroy aircraft carriers groups - and it can work around the world now. Ports will be fast unblocked, and how logistics will be without aircraft-carriers. Video above.
