Gunfire reported at veterans home in Yountville, California Gunfire was reported Friday at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, the California Department of Veterans said.

"We have activated our emergency response protocol and are cooperating with law enforcement," the department said in a statement. Police have surrounded the home and are telling people to avoid the area.

The facility houses about 1,000 aging vets and is the largest veterans home in the United States, according to the department.
Residents were temporarily evacuated from the veterans home in October when fires raged through Napa County.
Yountville is a town of about 3,000 residents in the north San Francisco Bay area.

This is why arming teachers will not work.

Armed teachers, police officers, and guards don't work. It's a response "after" the shooting as started, which is already too late. There was an armed officer at the recent high school shooting and also at the Pulse nighclub shooting. Didn't change a damn thing.

Even if it worked, arming teachers would only protect schools. Not malls, theaters, night clubs, churches, and now Veteran's homes.

We need to stop criminals from getting firearms in the first place. We need better mental health benefits, and tighter gun control.

this is why teachers need to be in leopard tanks! they can teach through the tanks speakers and in case a shooter enters the school the teacher can plow through walls and shoot the shit out of the place...everybody should get leopard tanks!...freedom! :ak47:
