Still driving my 2014 Volt. Get in, bitches!

Rochard 03-10-2018 10:43 AM

I am still driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I love my Jeep. It's full time four wheel drive. It's my daily driver, carries my bike, does family trips, and can haul nearly anything... And with the four wheel drive I can go anywhere. On the RARE occasion I find myself in snow it's nice to have the four wheel drive.

I've read that the 'bolt' is a good car and very competitive to a tesla. driving is a pleasure for me. I get cars that are pleasurable to drive. there will be an electric 'ct-something' soon enough Mark. a vendor I know recently purchased a tesla. not a basic model but up scale a bit... the volt has more luxury appointments than the telsa.

electric cars have not progressed to the point of 'luxury sedans', they will though. it's driving with the auto cars that worries me.. :helpme

I had the 2015 Yukon and while I loved the car, I got the damn thing from watching to many cops shows I think :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I hated operating the vehicle and my dog suffered greatly getting in and out and being in the back... the floor of the cargo space slanted to the back hatch. the poor dog could not get comfortable.

when I got back into the sedan, I was home. the dog gets transported by a service :thumbsup

Thats why its a convertible... Roof down and lower myself in! That's why it isn't as low as most Miatas... I need the extra wheelbase height, cause once I'm in its only a few millimeters off the floor.

5.5-liter Biturbo V-8

It has every available option (minus ceramic brakes because that makes each brake change 20,000-30,000 and I'm not racing this car at the track)

Couldn't be happier with it. Next car will be Mercedes S63 coupe :thumbsup

Yeah it's a good thing to be discrete about a German car 2002... Wouldn't want to make yourself a kidnapping target by disclosing the make and model :thumbsup

Why even respond to the thread if you're not going to state the car? Might have well just said "I drive a car" :1orglaugh

I still have my Challenger but it just sits in the garage... I took out today for a spin.

https://content.screencast.com/users...03-10_1306.png

While I was out I came across this right up the street from me at a small dealership.... 85k miles, 12k miles. If I didn't have the Challenger I would have bought this on the spot.

Lookin' to pre-order one shortly.

I couldn't bring myself to drive a Kia....

Or a Honda or a Toyota. I just cannot imagine myself driving an Asian car. I am very much an American car kind of guy. I like the Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes, but I can never see myself owning one. Oddly enough, I've owned a few Jaguars and really liked them.

Go figure.

Kia Stingers are built in Germany.

But don't let that get in the way of your assumptions.

The Stinger with its factory twin-turbo 400hp will do 0-60 in under 5 seconds.

And your umm...Dodge?

Hondas and Toyotas are arguably the most reliable cars ever built.

True...and Toyota Camry's are built in Canada.

But Rochard never lets silly factual stuff get in the way of whatever point he attempts to make.

Rochard's still stuck in a bygone era where it's gung-ho and patriotic to blindly support North American only manufacturers. It must suck to have an antiquated sense of consumerism and misplaced sense of loyalty to an inferior domestic brand.

Don't get me wrong... The Kia Stinger is a nice car. It's quick. It looks great. If I was to drive a Kia that's what I would want to drive. But Kia is just not for me.

Not at all.... I've owned two foreign cars - Jaguars in fact - in the past few years.

I drive a Jeep because.... I had that truck and I liked the idea of being able to go off road any time I wanted and not being afraid. I needed an SUV that can do anything, haul the family, carry my bike, and never have a fear of going anywhere. I bought the Dodge because like American muscle cars.

I'm sorry, but Kia and Toyota and Honda screams "middle aged bureaucrat". Its screams boring to me.

I like Mercedes, but cannot stand the interior - that big ass screen sticking up. I love the way the BMWs look but not their SUVs. I do love the Porsche SUVs, and in fact, that's what I was going to look at the day I bought my Jeep. I like the Audis - I could see myself driving an Audi. I like the Jaguar SUV they have out now.

The Asian cars just do nothing for me. At all.
