EBT Benefits
Is anyone familiar with the rules? I just read a complaint online from a person claiming Jack In The Box overcharged her for food.
Electronic benefit transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows state welfare departments to issue benefits via a magnetically encoded payment card, used in the United States. Are welfare payments meant for fast food? It doesn’t seem right that fast food can be bought with tax dollars. They get food stamp cards too, right? Something is wrong with this picture. |

All food in a can, bread, cereal and lunch meat is cooked so not being able to buy cooked food can't work. :2 cents: |
As I recall driving through various CA cities and seeing some sign in the windows of well known fast food brands saying they accept EBT, I did a quick Google search and found this ...
EBT Restaurant Meals Program I am absolutely disgusted by this abuse. The Fast Food industry successfully lobbied for this inclusion. I am not against "hot prepared meals" for those that cannot prepare one for themselves, and for that there are numerous Community Centers offering them, and also a Meals On Wheels program. Look at the list of participating restaurants for LA County ->http://file.lacounty.gov/SDSInter/dpss/237774_All.pdf |
