Will you be deleting your facebook account?

Just wondering - will you be deleting your facebook account now over the latest scandal?

It's impossible to delete a facebook account. I don't know how many times I deactivated mine and a month later it mysteriously is back on.

yuu.design 03-21-2018 07:52 AM

nah, there are lots of funny memes :P

Bladewire 03-21-2018 07:59 AM

I go on twice a year or so for Holiday and birthday wishes that's it.

On Facebook made going on Facebook more about Facebook than me, I was out. That was a few years ago.

Facebook is compiling the info of probably the most ignorant Americans which is good for them because they want to be able to manipulate people to take their money from them, that's Facebooks only goal, aside from selling everything possible they can find out from you by violating your trust & tricking you.

pimpmaster9000 03-21-2018 08:01 AM

you guys are taking facebook way to seriously...I share my cat pics with friends who share dog pics with me...

I think calling people and getting together in person will become more trendy in the near future. People are getting sick of tech tracking manipulating and lying.

2 much, Mark.

But...

If I delete this public record (facebook account) I won't be able to immediately see if you ate your omelette for breakfast, I wouldn't be aware if you liked what they said at Bored Panda, and I would be totally out of touch with your day to day notifications too... But if you really care, if you 'tag' yourself as a 'friend' it would probably mean you would email me once a month, hit me up on skype or even (!) call my cell.

Would you do that for me? Will I survive the silence of disconnection, MZ?

P.S.: MZ, No matter how intelligent your engineers are your UX/UI designers suck donkey balls.

No chance - FB is about the only thing that makes me any money these days - I can't afford principles...

Rochard 03-21-2018 09:21 AM

No, I am not sharing my FB.

Years ago we figured out how exactly how deep Facebook goes. Years ago - Like 2010 or so - My wife posted about what she wants to name our next child. I mentioned it to her, and she said she never made any such post. We looked into it and it turns out she took a quiz and in the terms it says they were going to capture and store her personal information AND make posts on her behalf. We turned off all of that shit a long time ago.

I think people are making too much out of this. Yes, they captured some information from Facebook. However, it would have been much easier for them just to buy that information from someone.

rogueteens 03-21-2018 09:33 AM

I don't have a profile of mine to delete but I do have a few fake ones just to make pages from - its scary that the last time I made one, FB asked me if i wanted to be friends with named members of my family, how FB knew I dunno, I have never even looked at a strangers FB profile, let alone a family member's.

They have so much information on everyone else they don't need you to add yours, Facebook already know exactly who you are! and this is only the start as computer processing gets faster, Google or Amazon one day buy Facebook, and Skynet is here, won't matter much if someone's info is 20 years old either.

And those that try and hide.. will just be more easily identifiable.

2MuchMark 03-21-2018 10:18 AM

I don't know... I'm thinking about deleting it. I use it to stay in touch with family and see what friends are up to, but nothing beats a good old-fashioned phone call.

Acepimp 03-21-2018 10:33 AM

Delete that shit!

^^ You can create a fake profile, like all your pages, then go to your real profile and make the new account an admin for all the pages, then delete the real one.

onwebcam 03-21-2018 10:47 AM

I use it to bash Zuck. FB and MSM :1orglaugh:1orglaugh A place where you can easily gather and challenge the establishment.. They created a tool to spy on the people but it in turn became a tool to use against them. That's what they really want to stop and they will take out FB to accomplish it.

Same thing goes for comments on articles. Many major MSM sites have removed or are removing them. They don't want anyone challenging the articles..

Refusing to remove private data would be illegal here. And by private data we mean anything that can lead to an identification of a person - photos, names, contact info, private chat, or anything else.

You mean will we be deleting our facebook over the latest scandal...and then rejoining six months from now when bygones-are-bygones and everyone forgets why they left?

Facebook has "ghost profiles" based on each users data so deleting the profile itself means nothing as they basically have a legal carbon copy. Think of it as a robot drawing a detailed picture of a photo then coloring by numbers and not needing the original photo :2 cents:

I have an account but I rarely post anything.

they have a new shitty option for deleting

1. you choose to suspend yours temporarily. in that case it will automatically turn back on after 7 days (if this isnt a scammy enough option then i dont know what is) :disgust

2. you choose to permanently delete, which in this case i would assume by law they must allow your acct & data to be truly removed (but knowing how facebook operates im sure they have something up their sleeve to "accidentally" reactivate accts)

There already are strict laws protecting privacy in EU and they must delete your personal data if you take back your permission previously given to them, no matter where or how they store it. Otherwise, they would be facing legal problems.

And it is going to be even stricter with GDPR .. :thumbsup

Klen 03-22-2018 04:15 AM

No i wont delete it either, i never post anything there, i use it for business purpose mostly and occasional information gathering.
The rule is, no matter where you post online, it can be used against you.
But funniest thing when i meet someone and i telling stuff about them and they are like "how the fuck you know all this stuff about me", and i am their FB friend where they post that stuff.

Anyone read Zuckerberg's response on facebook and catch how he jumped right over the years of the Obama campaign doing same thing Cambridge did in his timeline? Yeah he's a piece of shit.

Turn your fb into a spam page and get it banned it's the only way.

+1 mate.

I saw his ugly face (so ironic) on TV tonight and almost smashed in my wide screen. LOL He was so apologetic and part of me feels for him but the majority of me hates his squirmy face.

Give me those German twins any day jeez.
