Did you ever change your name on a gmail account?
 

I did and got a warning that it was ok this time to change the name but people
don't change names often. Kind of inferring that I couldn't change my name again.

Who the fuck do these assholes think they are?

They think they are, what they are. Intelligence services. Since the beginning of time I haven't used my full name on most everything. Gmail accts etc just the last letter of my last name. Even domain names are "Name Admin"

I recently changed one as I use it for medical stuff only. Part of it was an old nickname no longer viable so I changed it slightly. No warning, just a notice that it had been changed. Got one at my backup email also, in case I’d been hacked.

It’s great for a free, throwaway email but is limited. The filtering could be stronger and I say that, getting 300 spams a day on my main gmail account. Almost all got my email address from one site I signed up at to receive recipes. I used nick-name for that but nickname for important stuff (gmail lets you hyphenate words as a backup email. I use it to track spam email sellers). A lot of people aren’t aware of the free backup address

I do this myself, are you concern about your domains though? Thought I read icann can yank them if your admin info isn't legit.

I recall having to wait for like 3 months before I could change Google account name a while ago after making a change. Not sure if you still have to wait that long or perhaps even longer.
