BBC - Future - The increasingly realistic prospect of ?extinct animal? zoos

We are a few years away from bringing back woolly mammoths.

Quote:

Woolly mammoth DNA is more accessible. We have flash-frozen mammoth samples and can implant the genetic material into elephants, which are genetically similar. We can’t actually bring mammoths back in habitats resembling their original ones, though, where they could breed naturally.

I just hope that no one will clone the Spinosaurus :1orglaugh

CurrentlySober 04-04-2018 05:47 AM

Only because it would remind you of the zoos you visited in your childhood... :pimp :winkwink: :1orglaugh

Yeah, cloning is so natural... People are simply dumb, doing these experiments = playing with fire. What is extinct should stay extinct.

I would love to see that. Just the fact that they might be able to bring some extinct animals back is exciting and a huge scientific breakthrough.

It's not possible to find DNA in a stone.

We used to dream of livingi9n a cave.

We could clone the mammoths, and then clone Paul to get Neanderthals to ride the mammoths.

Cyber Fucker 04-05-2018 05:09 PM

I think we should care more about preserving endangered species that still exist but soon might not anymore rather than resurrection of extinct ones 1000s of years ago. As for the zoos... Gfy is enough for me and I don't like the idea of caged and disturbed animals.

Look Chang 04-05-2018 07:34 PM

I hope nobody will clone the Donald ... :stoned
