Hand over your social media accounts to get US visa LOL
https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...-media-tourism
it seems as though the klingon empire is now asking visa applicants to hand over their social media/email accounts and passwords so that the empire can carefully deliberate whether you plan on doing exactly as they are doing abroad :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh this will stop many many terrorists because they all post their plans on facebook :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh anyway get ready for a decline in tourism, there are many other nice places to visit where you are not asked to hand over your personal stuff to paranoid invaders :2 cents::2 cents: |

And aside from tourism - millions of business trips also would not be happening anymore and the effect on the economy would be devastating. |
And what should I do if I have no single account in the social networks?

More and more countries are going biometric now anyways so does it really matter? here in Aus they are doing away with passports completely, there a last century thing, your either on the system.. or your waiting in a little room at the airport.. until your on the system

The internet use to be so damn awesome... now it's like jogging in central park after dark in the early 90s.

Seeing how social media is being used by many far right and far left groups. I'm not surprised about this.
|
Funny how this works against most, but in my case it helped my wife get her Dutch Visa quicker by showing it was us and we were really married and to top it off happy
|
I fail to see the point in this. How many social media accounts does one person have? How do they know someone doesn't have six different accounts on Facebook, and they are only turning over one?

right now Mexico has a thing where every time the US state department issues a travel warning, they do the same in the major cities in Mexico. its a tit for tat thing but honestly it can ruin the worlds economy. At least in a short term thing. |

it is humiliating and I would not even consider standing in line for such bullshit...lots of other nice places to visit where I can spend my money...the USA can isolate itself all it wants...

It's any countries right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason.
What have you got that you want to keep hidden on your social media accounts? |

also there is the obvious business aspect where I do not want complete strangers going through my shit...why on earth would I apply for a visa to such an anal country when I can go on vacation/business elsewhere?... if the USA wants to reduce the risk of terrorism it should go the fuck home with its armies and stop training/supporting groups like ISIS/aquaeda etc...you know, stop creating the problem it is selling the solution for... |

If you don't fill in the information they just ask if they can take a look at your Phone.
Ofcourse you can refuse... if you don't want to enter the country anyway. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/14/b...rt-phones.html in Canada Also: What happens when a Canadian border agent asks to search your phone? | CBC News Now hapening in more and more countries. Heard stories of Mexican customs who did it to see if people had income in Mexico trough Airbnb. Just looked in their email. |
