Def Leppard Fans?
 

Huge fan and Pour Some Sugar On Me is one of my three favorite songs. They’re touring this summer (saw them twice) and have a tv commercial promoting the tour.

Joe looks like he’s aged badly, the words don’t match his mouth movements, but the commercial is funny as hell. If I were able, I’d fly to see them. Might be their last tour and they were/are one of the great underrated bands of the 80’s and 90’s, at least in the USA. Listen to their CDs and you’ll see they weren’t a cover band or copycat, but had a unique sound and talented musicians.

I love Def Leppard! They had such a crazy history too, with drugs and the drummer losing his arm. Wild ride as they say.

It's SO sad but age gets to all of us. The problem is there's no NEW Def Leppard-type band or rock stars coming up so it just feels like all the good bands are just dying off one by one.

Have you seen Jon Bon Jovi lately? He looks like a character from The Sopranos now, with his grey hair and suit. LOL

I went to see Journey a few years ago, front row tickets...

I just looked and they want $400 for floor tickets. Fuck that.

I met them in a small bar outside Tampa Not long after he got out of the hospital. Did the odd thing and sent them all a beer each. they raised their bottles to us and invited us over. Introduced themselves. When we got ready to leave a little while later they picked up the tab for us. it was like 30$. But it was nice and they were very cool to talk to.

That performance was embarrassing on so many levels.

Swift doesn't have the vocal chops for that type of music. She dances, prances and poses rather spastic. They don't harmonize together on any level.

Only watchable 'cuz Swift isn't too hard on the eyes. And the curiosity factor of what does Def Leppard sound like these days...

Phil did a solo in the store.

Great band indeed! Saw them about 10 years ago. They put on an awesome show ...and they also seem to be nice "down to earth" types of guys too.

I liked some of their songs but was never really a big fan. One thing I thought was cool though was when the drummer has his accident and lost his arm. Instead of giving up, he returned to the drums and brought along some new tech, MIDI, to help him play better than ever. Pretty dang cool.

Two reactions to this video: my clit was dancing to the song and Joe Elliot’s sexiness while my stomach was turning listening to Taylor Swift. I’ve never heard her before. Her name is everywhere and when I came out of my coma, she was so popular I thought she was another Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Alana Morrissette or Ann/Nancy Wilson. Hearing her now makes me wonder what the fuss is. Her dancing was trying-to-be-sexy gone wrong, her vocal chops were bad, she had a nice body in a nice dress and nice hair but that’s it. You can fap to her but not get off on her voice!

Whomever thought to hook them up was on LSD. That’s tantamount to Donnie Osmond singing with Axl Rose or Michael Jackson singing with Joan Jett!

Def Leppard rose above their tragedies and stayed strong. When Rick Allen lost his arm, everyone thought they were done. He worked hard to learn to use his feet on drums. When he stood up and took a bow, the Providence Civic Center went wild. We must have cheered for five minutes just for him. The band never gave up on him or replaced him. That’s loyalty.

I’d read that they were decent chaps (!) or blokes (?) in interviews so it’s nice to have it confirmed. And it’s really cool to see fans here. Rock and roll never dies. Great bands aren’t common; bands promoted as great but are mediocre are too prevalent.

They’ve aged but still sound damned good. I’ll never look at sugar again without seeing Joe in my head in that commercial!

I need to hunt for some videos of their other songs or recordings. Great background music...
