No fucking thread/conversation about the Verge cryptocurrency / Mindgeek partnership? What the fuck!
https://i.imgur.com/5ZH2cqN.jpg
Pornhub has started accepting cryptocurrency as a payment option, the company announced today. The site now accepts Verge cryptocurrency (no relation to The Verge), a rebranded version of Dogecoindark, which split off from the original meme coin, Dogecoin, in 2014. Now, users can pay for any Pornhub features, including a Premium subscription, using Verge cryptocurrency. Pornhub’s adult sister sites, Brazzers and Nutaku, also accept Verge cryptocurrency now. Verge cryptocurrency is anonymity-focused, which is why Pornhub executives say they chose it over other potential partners. It should be noted that anyone can view Verge cryptocurrency transactions through its public ledger, but it uses the anonymity tool Tor and an anonymous network layer I2P to hide specific transactions’ IP addresses and locations. Since public ledgers often have their downfalls in protecting anonymity, users also choose to hide on Verge cryptocurrency’s private ledger. Corey Price, VP at Pornhub, tells The Verge that cryptocurrency offers “convenience and security.” It’s a dubious statement, considering most digital coins have high transaction fees and volatile prices that can be a hassle for users. Companies like Valve and Stripe have ended their cryptocurrency support for those very reasons. Stripe has even gone as far as adding cryptocurrency to its prohibited businesses list. “WE’VE BEEN LOOKING AT CRYPTO FOR QUITE SOME TIME” Verge cryptocurrency has been pretty volatile, like other popular digital coins. Last December, when most digital currencies were on the rise, Verge cryptocurrency hit nearly $0.22 per coin but has since dropped back down. On the heels of this announcement today, it rose to about 10 cents per coin, which is still low compared to more popular digital currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. “We’ve been looking at crypto for quite some time,” says Price, adding that Pornhub’s partner sites did accept limited cryptocurrencies back when Bitcoin had newly emerged as a digital currency. Still, Pornhub wasn’t one of the sites to include cryptocurrency as a payment method back then, likely because Bitcoin’s prices were still low. Price says that even though “overall adoption is relatively low, we think it has gained enough steam for us to penetrate the market.” As regulators consider different ways of tackling the cryptocurrency industry, the company also has a legal team and accountants that have assured Price and his team “in the legitimacy of the adoption.” Read More: https://bittox.com/2018/04/18/verge-...-announcement/ https://i.imgur.com/w6CVFXV.jpg |

have you heard what happened with the SaveDroid ICO? really some fuckers |
MindGeek are too smart to start taking crypto ...
|
great, now some cam sites can get involved and make this the currency the standard. Than we can forget about firstchoice.
I thought they would go for an own coin with an ico and cash billions before even selling something. |
Honestly this movement makes absolutelly sense, what I don't understand is why not use monero as crypto when that is the only one that is absolutelly anonimous?
|
Mindgeek makes moved to make money! Simple as that :1orglaugh
If they don't see profit they will get the fuck out :winkwink: |

Big price drop after the announcement. Maybe Verge paid Mindgeek with Verge, Then Mindgeek dumped it all?
That being said, I bought some like $50 of Verge a couple of days ago at .07. Current market cap of 1 billion. 14.9 billion coins in circulation. Max of 16 .5 billion. |
Highly doubt Mindgeek would've accepted XVG as payment :2 cents:
|
for grins and giggles. Gave it a try. Bought 1 month of pornhub premium.
My only complaint is the payment should be rounded up to the 6th decimal place. I had to make another transaction because I didn't notice the last two digits were not pasted in my Electrum wallet. I am really pleased that no additional information was asked. I don't want to get rebilled or any hidden upselling. Took about 15 minutes for the confirmations to come through. https://i.imgur.com/JybbUWO.png I don't know if this will be adopted by the average user though. Maybe if we reach a point where crypto wallets are as a common as smart phones. Since coinpayments.net is being used. Adding other currencies should be easy. |

I hope people will use it. The hardcore porn fans will figure it out first. Finaly nothing on the banking statements that the wife can see. Data leaks, etcetra. Very good for sites that are forbidden in some countries, while not forbidden in others. |

You lose more money this way than Bank fees, and even Credit Card processing in the long term ( 1 year ) |
xHamster accepts crypto for years. Actually main issue for the surfer is to get crypto for CC payment. As soon as it will be easy crypto will become a big part of adult biz, without visa and mc it's a small shit for geeks.

Just another PH publicity stunt
Pretty sure they don't care about Verge or accepting Verge. They probably contacted lots of coins and Verge was the one that said yes. |
Why Verge?

I think the excange to euro's or dollars can be automated, so when they pay with coins, will be transfered to USD. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose on the exchange rate. You are paying banking fees now also. And when the bank doesn't like porn, they cut you of when they want. The banks hate you. The market where you can sell your products will grow much much much bigger. It will be easier to set up payment system on your site, you can accept money from everywhere without any bank without mastercard/creditcard rules. Cause you don't need a banking system, you can set up your business where you want. One of the reason business are in countries with high taxes is cause of the banking systems. And you can see it is getting harder and harder to open accounts when you are setting up things in low tax countries. So you have much bigger market, less banking problems, and reduce cost of payment systems and banking fees (as owner). I saw people who already banking again on animalsex. Most people won't get into it, but think of some countries where BDSM is illegal, or where pussies must be blurred. Crypto currency is a great thing for privacy and freedom of speech. It is ridicilous the bankers have such a big influence. And that everyone is able to see where you spent your money. So i support it that pornhub starts with coins. Now some cam sites, dating, sexshops and all is covered. Will take some years, but you must grab the opportunity by the pussy. |

Now they just collect money from every coin they accept :) there are coins like reddcoin that claim they want to be the coin for soical networks. Only having plans and using those brands to have a big ico and fill their poclets. And now it looks Verge is smarter, just give money to sites that you want using your coin. Much faster than trying to convince YouTube to use your coin, like reddcoin wants. Or the wankkoin, of other porn coin that collected money with an ico. They should have a bigger ico and buy pornhub. Crazy how much some ico's collected. |

This isn't smart... Cryptocurrency Verge Responds To Hacking Claims By Launching ‘Accidental Hard Fork’ :1orglaugh :1orglaugh It's like the blind leading the blind there :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
Verge 3 weeks ago
"Anonymity-focused cryptocurrency Verge (XVG) lost 25% of its value April 4 as news surfaced of an apparent hack which developers ‘resolved’ by accidentally initiating a hard fork. According to various press and social media sources, including Verge developer known as Sunerok, a bug allowed manipulation of block mining timestamps. This created the potential for illegitimate coins to appear from nowhere. “There's currently a >51% attack going on on XVG which exploits a bug in retargeting in the XVG code,” Suprnova mining pool’s OCminer reported on Bitcointalk. “Due to several bugs in the XVG code, you can exploit this feature by mining blocks with a spoofed timestamp. When you submit a mined block (as a malicious miner or pool) you simply set a false timestamp to this block one hour ago and XVG will then “think” the last block mined on that algo was one hour ago.” The debacle comes just three weeks after John McAfee-endorsed Verge lost control of its Twitter account to hackers, with funds reportedly not being at risk. Following the fresh bug reports, however, Sunerok appeared to adopt a laissez faire attitude to fixing them, pushing through an accidental hard fork. “You guys are aware that the ‘fix’ you pushed actually IS a hardfork? So your blockchain snapshot is not valid anymore, the wallet’s won’t sync up from scratch anymore and the current chain is simply not usable anymore with that new ‘fix’?” OCminer continued." https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypt...ntal-hard-fork |
i didn't read that articles. so they fucked up. only winner is mindgeek with the fee.
