Golden State Killer: Murderer, rapist suspect arrested in CA | The Sacramento Bee

Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in connection to the East Area Rapist case, officials say. Also known as the Golden State Killer, the serial rapist is responsible for raping at least 45 women and killing 12.

Woah, I'd heard of the Zodiac killer, however I'd never heard of this guy. This is some crazy ass creepy shit.

That's exactly went through my head when I saw the picture of the agents with all the evidence in front of the house. From the house I gather that it was a decent neighborhood and to think this predator was roaming around inconspicuously for that long is very disturbing to me. This is someone's neighbor, the guy you were standing next to at the grocery store, etc.

I had never heard of him either until this morning. Killed 12 people and raped dozens of others.

Seems he was a police officer in the 1970s in Auburn (where my wife works) and lived in Citrus Heights. That's some fucked up shit.

He'll die in prison. Hopefully they spit in his potatoes.

I grew up in Citrus Heights just a few minutes around the corner from his house!
