GOING, GOING, GONE Gmail introduces SELF-DESTRUCTING emails...
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/614552...n-seven-years/
Now when I send my "Daily Dump" pics out via email blast, the recipients will no longer have evidence to report me to the police - Sweet :upsidedow |
I wonder how they managed to get the email to self destruct if you are not sending to another gmail account....

I was interested in the bit that says:

I had to check the date wasn't April 1st ! |
"Impressively, even if the recipient doesn't have a Gmail account, the email will still self-destruct."
This seems unlikely. |

The shit seems totally illegal to me regardless of how it's done. It's destroying evidence if the receiver is using the email as proof of a communication. It's like going into someone else's office and shredding the documents that you sent them. It's the receiver's property once the email is sent. The IRS can't send you a letter and then come over to your house and shred the letter without your consent. And that shouldn't change just because the letter is electronic. And this shit will be outlawed as soon as the terrorist start using it to send instructions to each other. So don't even count on it ever fully working because the government would want to recover emails for investigation so there will be this "back door" some where to regenerate those emails. If the government can order Apple to hack a phone then they can order gmail to regenerate and email. Don't trust this bullshit. |
Facebook have already been caught deleting Zuckerberg's messages from the recipient's inboxes.
They're also planning to introduce a self destruct feature which everyone can use. https://techcrunch.com/2018/04/05/zu...eted-messages/ |
