It's actually not funny.

Most victims never come forward to tell friends or family, let alone contact the police. They harbor the pain for years and go into deep depression, or act out, or self harm, and a lot of other things. Abuse is a very hard thing to process and is accompanied with a lot of pain, self blame & self hate. The younger the victim, the harder & longer to process for most :2 cents:

I haven't been following this too closely... but I thought the news reported they wanted to file the case ten years ago but didn't think they would be able to get a guilty plea. It's a different world today.

I won't be shocked if he dies first. I assume he will appeal and that will take time. There are also reports that his lawyer fell asleep during the trial. If that is true Cosby might be able to argue that he was not properly represented. I suppose there is a chance he could drag this out for a few more years and end up passing away before he ever is sentenced or forced to report to jail.

I think he'll delay by appeal until he dies the day after it's ruled he serve time and turn himself in to local authorities.

cosby's 3 crimes have mandatory minimum of 15 years combined.

his legal team can't just file appeals willy-nilly, the court proceedings must have had some sort of serious legal blunder for an appeal, it didn't, so appeal is out of the question.

cosby will do 7 years in prison.
