Is "Last Week Tonight" really over?

I hope it's a big joke.

EddyTheDog 05-08-2018 10:06 AM

Oh no - I love that show...

beerptrol 05-08-2018 10:10 AM

He accomplished what he set out to do. Have a Koala Chlamydia Ward named after him.

They caught it from chumpanzees

The show has been picked up by HBO until 2020

I meant to include a congratulations about that here, quite the achievement.

who caught what from chumpanzees?

whew.

SongRider 05-08-2018 10:26 AM

No... its not over... 20 more episodes left this season and HBO already picked it up for next season.

2MuchMark 05-08-2018 10:48 AM

It's one of the best shows of its kind on TV - much funnier than The Daily Show with Trevor Noah too.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is also really funny.

Rochard 05-08-2018 10:57 AM

I love John Oliver.... So freaking funny.

yeah, they're all pretty funny as well. You don't get to have humour though because your full time job is defending a president you didn't even bother to vote for...

CjTheFish 05-08-2018 11:15 AM

I hope so.

Yes of course it's funny sometimes... when not towing the Democrat party line. He's basically a DNC shill.

It's over even if it's not.

CaptainHowdy 05-08-2018 03:35 PM

Never watched it ...

If Americans want to know what the BBC is like, it's like John Oliver.

He's not Jewish, but he looks and acts like a Jew to get ahead in the media. He's no different from Rachel Dolezal and Shaun King.

I dunno man.. I agree with 95% of what you post but meh... whenever I see those guys, it's all a bit 'over acted' for me. John Oliver's show is good though (though again with the 'over acting', not quite as bad as kimmel or conan but still) - as mentioned, very well researched. The one on cash grabs by the police was particularly eye-opening :helpme

Just those very subtle differences in tastes across the atlantic I guess. I think UK has more of a match with aussie humour.. ofc aussie/canadian/usa/brit is largely the same.. just those tiny differences. Like americans whooping at everything - I love you guys but come on, wtf is that about :winkwink:

Smart, funny people are usually liberals.

Name one funny conservative.

Just one of those guys is sharper than ten conservative assholes. And they have better research and facts than Fox news could ever hope(or want) to have.

GAMEFINEST 05-08-2018 08:51 PM

Bill Maher is one ugly motherfucker. Even as a TV star he has to join a sex club to get laid.

So that D list comedian having a right wing rage fit is on par with Jimmy Kimmel, Bill Maher, John Oliver, John Stewart or any other top tier comedian who happens to also be liberal?

.

Artistic people are usually liberals.

Not to mention the fact that media is mostly anti Trumop, anti republican, anti conservative, anti white etc.
It is MUCH harder to make it as a conservative there.
