Trump - NK Summit Over Before It Begun?..
|
Wait, let me guess. This is all Trump's fault. South Korea gets all the praise if things go well and the U.S. gets all the blame if it goes bad.
|
I've been waiting for a bit of nk pushback.
world diplomacy & international intrigue! |

You seem pretty normal, Eddy. Please take it as high praise. :thumbsup |
Somehow it never occurred to the Trump people that having war games in South Korea might be a bad idea. NO ONE in the White House said "Gee, maybe we should look at what our military is doing is cancel any major upcoming events and perhaps put them off".
LOL. |
Epically STUPID to have U.S snd SK military drills on the NK boarder after Moon & Kim Jong Jong-un signed s peace treaty ending the Korean war.
Trump did this on purpose to fuck up peace in the Korean peninsula since he's been left out of the loop, which is how it should be. |
Finally, an intelligent comment from Rochard.
I think Kim is within his rights and making a valid point. He's made a lot of good faith gestures and we should, too. Maybe that's his ultimate point. Face is very important in Asia. |

As predicted. Apparently the U.S. was drilling itself. Actually, that sounds a lot like Mrs. Bladewire. |

quick, someone suggest an award for trump so we can get this deal back on the rails!

Whatever happens, don't forget the basic tenet: If it's good, Trump has nothing to do with it. NOTHING! If it's bad, it has EVERYTHING to do with Trump. EVERYTHING! |
Quote:
but I'm not sitting at the table of this high stakes game. I'll have no issues with trump being a part of it when it's a done deal. If he screws it up, well, I'll be disappointed in him. |

You haven't read the playbook of your squad, dyna mo. The U.S. has NOTHING to do with this process. Unless it has EVERYTHING to do with it. It's opinion ping pong for the mentally challenged. |

funny how Trump cannot have anything to do with the arranging peace talks but everything to do with any problems with peace talks in the minds of jackofffs like you, rochard and every other super emotional twit that still can't stop throwing tantrums over not getting what you wanted in the election. i thought president Moon was the genius in all this and Trump had nothing to do with anything? that's all you've been saying, right? suddenly, he's not responsible for anything? fucktard. |

Serbia will never be relevant in world politics. But your history of genocide,... slaughtering innocent men, women and children, will.

Nope, the U.S. has NOTHING to do with this. |

oh so I guess the joint military exercises between the US and south korea really have nothing to do with the USA then...makes sense... |

These were JOINT military exercises? You have to be wrong, sir. It has been stated repeatedly on this forum that South Korea alone decides what happens over there. I don't know where you get your facts, but... |
For the ignorant :
Foal Eagle (Korean: 독수리 연습) is a combined field training exercise (FTX) conducted annually by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and the United States Armed Forces under the auspices of the Combined Forces Command. The exercises are usually conducted in March and April, but in December South Korean President Moon Jae-In told NBC News his country was pushing the U.S. to postpone the exercises until after the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in PyeongChang, which end March 18, as an olive branch to North Korea. Foal Eagle, a yearly exercise with the South Korean military, is now scheduled to begin on March 31 and run through May. |
You mean this wasn't all Trump's fault?
Impossible! |

However... Trump and his administration should have known that such a joint exercise could cause problems. At the same time, Trump is so desperate for a win that his is tripping over himself to get to the summit that he failed to figure out this is what North Korea does - bait and switch. |
the uneducated fail to realize NK & SK have been at war for 50 years. Of course SK would welcome USA help and they have, for decades. Joint military exercises are a part of that.
you = schooled. |

The joint threat excercise was a mistake... You = shcooled and high schooled...I took you to both...no need to thank me... |
the exercise has already been established in the thread, by me and others, as a mistake.
you can't even research the very thread you're posting in. |

As much as Trump has to appease his base, Kim has to do the same
There's no surprises here, war games were planned well in advance and delayed, NK was fully informed and also said it was ok. Kim needs to keep his hardliners happy. Trump needs to accept NK as a nuclear power, send them a few trillion in cash and pull back sanctions so South Korea and China can trade with them. Kim needs to stop his weapon building, hand over all his nukes, chemical and biological weapons and allow a few thousands inspectors in to review and monitor every military operation he has. Neither will fully happen, so far Kim has offered to stop testing weapons he has tested and Trump has offered to put a McDonalds and Starbucks on every street corner. Politically KIM by FAR has the upper hand. Both leaders have shown they don't give a fuck about their countries population or welfare. Trump wants votes, Kim wants money and one thing we all understand about American politics.. they will pay what is needed for those votes. Submit and accept NK as a nuclear power. |

This is a negotiation - a difficult one. This is not Trump's world, it's not the kind of negotiation Trump is used to. In Trump's world it's two business people who want to do business with each other, and have common goals. This is the direct opposite. This is two groups of people who want direct opposite things. Whatever. This is just comical to watch. |
Just read that Kim Jong Un has said he will not agree to a deal where he has to give up his nukes. I can't imagine a deal worth a shit being made that includes him getting to keep them.
This is over before it ever started. |

However the mere fact we have all parties involved at the negotiating table in itself is a HUGE step. No one is going to get what they want, but reality is even the smallest of steps, is a HUGE advance. Trump can't invade Nth Korea without significant risk to Americans and allies in the area, let alone the reaction from China and Russia. Trumps already thrown everything he can at Nth Korea.. sanctions. Kim has Dotard by the Gonads, because Dotard needs this as a political win... Kim certainly doesn't, he's actually got more explaining to do if he accepts it. -- North Koreans are convinced that South Korea is going to join with them and their wealth is going to flow in, which combined with the Norths Military clout will make Korea.. one of the most powerful counties on the planet. (Adds "evil snicker") With the Rodong Sinmun in reach, more North Koreans are talking international relations- Daily NK “The nuclear weapons were being developed while we starved, so there is widespread suspicion over why the government has decided to abandon them,” said a source in South Hamgyong Province. “Most North Koreans want a unified Korea to combine North Korea’s nuclear weapons with South Korea’s strong economy.” The source further said that, “There have been no proper explanations given about denuclearization and so there are many who are wondering why North Korea needs to get rid of them. --- If Kim was to sign... I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that when he returns to NK he's executed on the spot. We better hope the military have a planD for that one. |
Kim went to South Korea and started negotiations, one of the main lollipops SthKorea/ USA can offer is investment in the North. All was smiles many hand shakes and photos taken, then everyone went home. Western media reported Triumphs , Give Trump the Nobel Peace prize!!!.
This is what Kim did on return... North Korean authorities form new group to block foreign influence- Daily NK After the April 27 Moon-Kim Summit, an inspection unit has been formed by the North Korean authorities with the pretext of blocking “capitalist phenomenon”, tasked with conducting wide scale crackdowns. During a telephone call with Daily NK on May 4, an inside source from South Pyongan Province said, “The unit (tasked with rooting out 'anti-socialist' activity) was formed by the central authorities and has become quite active recently. The unit is evaluating people's clothes and hairdos, engaging in fierce reprimands.” “There are units sent down to the provincial level from the Central Party authorities,” the source explained. “Within the provincial level, there are units formed within the regional People’s Committees Ministry of State Security offices, police stations, and legal offices. They have all been given licenses to conduct censorship. On a white piece of paper, 20 centimeters by 10 centimeters, is red writing that permits the holder to engage in crackdowns against any type of antisocial behavior.” The "anti-socialist unit" located within the Central Party has nearly unlimited authority to question the residents’ appearance and control the spread of capitalism thinking and trends. They are not just evaluating individuals. They are also observing the goods produced by enterprises and severely cracking down, according to a source in North Pyongan Province. “This unit very carefully inspects all the contents of one’s bags and belongings. If there are any illegal items found, they are unconditionally confiscated. For example, if someone has a tire that can’t be produced in North Korea, the unit officers will ask, where did you get this? Or, where are you sending this? If you don’t have a receipt or an invoice, it is considered illegal and confiscated," he said. If personal or corporate property has foreign language writing on it, it is judged to be "anti-socialist" and can therefore be confiscated. “The Party has invested the unit with wide authorities, giving it the power to go into the markets and the factory enterprises. But they technically can’t go into private homes unless people report suspicious activity first,” the North Pyongan Province-based source explained. He added that before the units became active, notices were handed down that said, “If anyone is detected with the following, they must be unconditionally reported: clothing that's not in our style, hairdos that aren't in our style, foreign songs, and language that is not ours.” ---- winning right? |
Chump isn't a negotiator and is desperate to get a deal with NK. If Chump knew some history he would know that this is how NK behaves!
|
Sorry, guys - I just don't buy the whole thing. Seems like part of the movie - feels very scripted. Time will tell. Thread bookmarked. :)
