WiFi Question

Thunder, lightning and wind are present and WiFi is spotty. I was watching Netflix and lost the connection. Tried Amazon’s Prime app and it, too, wouldn’t connect. Opened Chrome and GFY loaded fine. Other sites, too, so I tried Netflix again, but it just tried to load. Same with Prime. Neither load yet I’m online. They reset the router and I connected for twenty seconds of Netflix, then just the circle going around, loading, but I’m here, active.

Why will it connect online but not to other apps online? It’s never happened before this.

I know, but is the browser loading fine though a little slow, but Netflix and Amazon Prime App hangs? All use the World Wide Web.

It's still raining but most has passed. Usually it's fine and when we had the remnants of the hurricane, everything was fine despite losing power. But maybe that's hooked into the generator... Yeah, that must be it.

Sites are loading slowly and every so often I lose connectivity.

It's because of net neutrality. Thanks Trump.

The WIFI is working, just slowly because of the weather interference - Most web pages are pretty small - Videos are big - I suspect it is as simple as that...

Lightning and Rain does not affect your wifi signal in anyway, except for a power failure.

While lightning produces a broad range of RF interference, it is only for a split second. Wifi uses 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies and on top of that, digital spread spectrum, to get its singles back and fourth.

If the RF from lighting were to interrupt the signal, the packet would be instantly retransmitted and would not even notice it.

If your Internet is slow and Netflix isn't working etc, it's not the storm - something else is going on.

Neithe movie app wouldn’t load. Not the actual movie or show, just the main page.

I visited a recipe website with tons of pics of recipe dishes and it loaded fine.

I’m on the lower end of the MHz but another router is much higher and it wouldn’t load and the phone couldn’t dial out, I’m told.
