Sometimes the rockets crash and kill their crews... but not in Russia (we have lost only 4 cosmonauts: one because of a parachute failure and three because of determination of the landing capsule - so nobody was killed by the rocket). While the leading developer of V-2 was grabbed by the USA and Russians engineers headed by Korolev... guess what? They were able to send their first rocket to the orbit BEFORE von Braun with all his knowledge and the US money. Now turn on your logic. Does something like ding-dong sound in your head? Also look into the history. Which country has started to use the rocket technologies at war? It was the Soviet Union with "Katushas" - those had no even close analogues in the Nazi Germany.
