Australians, why so many climate change deniers and new coal mines there?
More than half of federal Liberal MPs 'don't trust' climate science: think tank | afr.com
The majority of federal Liberal MPs are not convinced the science behind climate change is settled and support reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases for political reasons, according to an prominent conservative think tank. https://www.sciencealert.com/french-...climate-change There were two big losers in the federal budget: the planet, and the people who live on it. The Turnbull government’s slavish devotion to coal is smudged all over budget 2018 and Tony Abbott’s blackened fingerprints are all over it. https://www.theherald.com.au/story/5...ch-for-planet/ https://www.theguardian.com/environm...adani-coalmine Malcolm Turnbull tells Indian billionaire native title will not stop Adani coalmine https://www.smh.com.au/environment/c...15-p4zfe5.html The monster mine planned for the Galilee Basin, abuts Adani's Carmichael mine, and is separate from a proposal by Mr Palmer to develop the China First mine, also in the region. |
Turnbull’s brown coal hydrogen horror show: $500m for 3 tonnes
Australia’s Victoria and federal governments have promised to pump $50 million each into a near $496 million project to gassify brown coal in Victoria and produce just three tonnes of hydrogen https://reneweconomy.com.au/turnbull...-tonnes-70932/ |
Mining is 6% of our total GTP and around 60% of our total exports. The trust issue has very little to do with the science and a lot to do with $$$

I dont know why we keep getting dickheads in charge im sick of it now

Jobs and money. There’s precious little of either around at the minute despite the mining boom and no recession in Australia since 1991. When house prices burst this pack of cards will hit the shits pretty fast.
