Was playing PS4 online couple days ago and one guy was talking about how he is a huge comic book fan. Went on to say that Marvel comics now have gone full SJW. They made Captain America old so he passes off the torch to a black character. He mentioned they did this with a few of the big name ones and the comic sales have gone down the toilet, they are now backtracking on this.

There seems to be a huge backlash against Disney & in particular, Kathleen Kennedy, when it comes to Star Wars and especially to "Solo".

I lost interest in the movies and haven't seen the last few so I don't have any comment about the backlash.

Marketing 101: Aim for everyone without risking isolation. Trying to fit in a character for everyone like ticking off a check list isn't inclusion, it's pandering and horrible for any story. If anything its an insult to any minority demographic unless it is done well or naturally.

You can make the argument that there are not enough strong gay characters in movies. I would even agree with you. But that is on movie producers not accepting scripts for these stories. You don't fix that by making Rick Blaine (humphrey bogart) in Casablanca gay for some reason. Does making Daniel Larusso in Cobra Kai bissexual help the story along? No, they didn't do that because it would be a ridiculous distraction from an already established character.

We'll said however:

A) You haven't seen the movie - you don't know if it's shitty

B) You're attributing a Gay character as being politically correct, instead of just representing part of the real world we live in, that shows your bias. In your mind there can never be a character that's Gay without it being politically correct.

C) A character who's sexuality was never established, now being established, isn't retroactively doing something politically correct, it's expanding a character in many ways, one of which happens to be their sexuality.

This kind of thing doesn't matter to me personally. I've never been a flag waving homosexual I just live my life by example I don't fit into the Gay society because I'm a single parent, I don't fit into straight society because I'm Gay pornographer with a kid, and that's fine with me. So the movie was great. I wish I had more action in it that's my only complaint really. There is nothing gay about it at all except for Lando Calrissian wore a cape.

I was expecting there to be at least a gay scene or something but no fucking alt-right lying bullshit got me excited and nothing. I'm not going to give any spoiler alerts but there's some really cool parts to this that I'll throw people for a loop having to do with the storyline and origins of things.

One cool scene is we get to see where Chewbaka and Han Solo meet and how they meet and I think that's pretty cool.

I didn't think I'd like the actor that plays Han Solo because in the Press junkets he had facial hair and all this other crap and he didn't look like Han Solo and he had a very boring personality but in the movie he is a great young Han Solo he had a lot of energy and like a lot of the characteristics of Harrison Ford, pretty awesome and very convincing!

Great movie though :thumbsup
