There should be a law that these shelters need to warn people about any pit bull type dog around kids. I've seen videos with these assholes that run these pit adoptions and I've seen them say they are totally safe around kids. If you've ever seen a pit launch an attack you know they are not.

These stories horrify me.

I know someone with 2 Rott's, has had them for years. Beautiful dogs, behave pretty well. 3 years ago this couple decided to have a baby. I suggested he find a new home for the dogs. He looked at me like I was a retard. Last summer, guess what happens? Dog is sleeping, 2-year-old wants to play, dog reacted as you would expect and bit 2-year-olds face. Millimeters away from catching the child's eye. Fortunately all injuries were superficial, no scarring or permanent damage.

Do they still have the Rott's? Yep.

I did massive research before getting my Great Dane puppy. I'd heard of people posing as breeders selling their blue nose pitbull puppies as euro blue grear dane puppies to get more cash. Thd puppies look EXACTLY the same. Some people breed the blue nose pitbulls with euro blue great Danes to get a mess big killing machine. After I paid my $1,800 I took my puppy to my vet to verify he was a Euro Blue Great Dane, and he is, but he's pretty agressive and still wonder if he's a cross.

When he was smaller people would say oh you got a blue nose pit I'm like no it's a Great Dane and they kind of look at me and wink and say yeah sure :1orglaugh now that he's bigger people don't do that but I do get the evil eye sometimes for having his ears cropped. Snowflakes :disgust

When we see pit bulls while out and about, we pick up our dog and walk away in the opposite direction. I've had a pitbull try to attack my dog while I was holding it in my arm at an intersection. I've been stuck in elevators with psycho pitbulls and their owners. Horrible beasts and the dogs are too.

Why anyone would own a pit bull is beyond me.

Smart move. I hike with my dog every week and I bring a 7 inch trench knife with me specifically for pits. Every week there is some asshole with 2 or 3 running off leash. For your dog's sake carry a weapon because if one does grab it you'll never get the fucker off.

The other day there was a dude with a pure mussle pit cross dog 160lbs the guy was using all of his weight to hold it back no joke. The dog just wanted to play with my dog which I was fine with but he had his daughter with him who's probably 7 or 6 years old, and the dog is bigger than her and he's pure muscle that dog could take down any human it was huge like a pitbull on steroids and three times the size it was scary as fuck and the dog would not stop pushing forward to play with my dog it was just so fucking crazy.

We let our dogs play and the guy and I talked for a while ( he was hit ) about everything. He said the dogs great with my daughter and they sleep together and he loves her and blah blah blah blah blah blah. If that dog ever wanted to kill both Father & daughter it could easily do so, and it might because that dog was walking the owner not the other way around . That dog was in control. Scary

Don't let your dog play with a pit. Like I said, if it latches on you'll never get that fucker off.

I know pit nutters have a coronary when you say lock jaw ( I know their jaws don't technically "lock") but I think it's a pretty good description considering they've hat bats broken over their heads and shot without letting go.

It's because that's what they were bread to do. They were supposed to grab large animals by the face/head and not let go no matter what. That's their job.

I wish I had my phone with me I would have taken pictures of this dog was like something out of a movie, if it didn't have a big leather collar and big leather straps the guy was holding on to I would have been more cautious but I was right by my dog and could have yanked him back real quick if I needed to I might have broken his neck but you know :1orglaugh

We have a large dog park near my house, and a few years ago a pit bull attacked another dog there. The dog ended up dying two weeks later.

Those little fuckers kill up to 30,000 pets and livestock a year. The only reason they still exist is because they have a very powerful lobby.

A nurse I knew got a pit bull puppy. Raved about him being gentle, she’s raising him right, etc. She’d be upset if I talked about the dangers of pit bulls. “ I’m raising him right” and he had training, blah blah blah.

A year later she moved. She had reconstructive surgery after the dog bit her face and took out a chunk of flesh on her chin.

She blamed herself because she’d eaten a donut and had crumbs on her mouth. I told her I’d do that and my dog would simply lick up the crumbs.

Training is great but some breeds instinctively attack or run and hide.

That Mom was too busy piercing her face to watch her child. Keep dangerous dogs away from children and respectable people.

As someone who grew up in FL where there are lots of dumb rednecks.. It's always the absolute worst people that should have those dogs that have them. 99.9999% of the time if you ask a pitt bull owner why they have that dog, it's because they think they are bad ass..

Then of course in the 90s' rap videos made them popular with gang banger wannabes as well for the exact same reason, because they think it's a "bad ass" dog..

Both groups are the types who will mistreat the animal and not respect the danger it poses, because it fits their egos..

You're right about the gangbangers and rednecks, but I hike Blue Hills and every week I see them with White 30-40 yr old women that drive a Prius with a Hillary sticker on the bumper. I kid you not. It's because the humane shelters had so many pits they went on some re-branding campaign to try and rename the dogs so dumb people would adopt them. Just like they did that campaign for adopting greyhounds.. Instead of dealing with the issue of puppy mills for sports betting and then dumping the dogs, they made up campaigns to get people to adopt the dogs..

With greyhounds at least they aren't dangerous but with pitts.. its fucking stupid.

My puppy got ear infections three times. My vet recommended I get his ears cropped to allow circulation in his "deep ear canals" so fungus can't grow in there. I said okay let's do it! And he said he doesn't crop dog's ears and then I was like okay who does and he's like nobody around here.

No place here locally crops dog's ears anymore because of animal rights activists saying how cruel it is. There are two vets in all of Southern California that crop dog's ears.

I drove an hour and a half and past Riverside to get my dog's ears cropped. With this vet it's first come first serve in the morning and they are a really great popular vet with famous breeders. So I get up at 6 in the morning to drive out to Riverside and wait to get my dog's ears cropped at 8am.

I get out of the car and there's at least 12 Mexican guys and girls all with pitbulls Dobermans and some other I really fat kind of dog with a flat face that I don't know what it was. They all had their ears cropped or were in the process of getting cropped and it made me really really think of whether I was going to do this or not I almost went back in the car and go back home. This guy with a big Doberman had this really big chain on his dog like you was a bad ass it was so stupid lol I held my dog walking past and it cuz I didn't want him to get bit :1orglaugh
