So I saw SOLO: A Star Wars Story yesterday, and it's.... weird. It was an OK story with good acting, but it was all kind of blah. It had good action and a few cute jokes, but still fell flat to me. You got to see Han get behind the wheel of the Millennium Falcon for the first time, but it didn't have much impact. Same for the scenes where he met Chewie and Lando for the first time. MEH. Nothing...

Director Ron Howard has made some really good movies. He made one called "Rush" a few years ago that flopped, but I loved it and I think really deserves a second chance. Rush was full of amazing visuals and emotional impact. Solo just looked so cookie-cutter somehow. MEH!

meh.

What number are we on? I've only seen the original three. I hear there are suppose to be nine in total.

I got 158 gigs of HD Star Wars shit.

I thought it was great.

Everyone is expecting that feeling from 1977 all over again, the first time we saw Star Wars. That will never happened again; It's a once in a life time thing.

I didn't like the kid who played Han Solo. I loved Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian - He nailed it.

This is what happens when a studio exerts so much control and the directors are hog tied.

The only good star wars movie I saw was the one where the two main characters died.... Rogue One.

100%. No coincidence its the 2nd movie they've had to change directors on midway through the project. This one Howard had to re-shoot 75-80% of the movie once hired.

It was a decent movie. Nothing more.

These new ones are not part of the original 9. They are spin offs because Disney is planning to release a new one each year.

Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian was pretty good, sorry, I should have pointed that out.

Why did people say his character was bisexual or pan or whatever? Nothing like that ever came up once from what I recall.

I liked Rogue One.

I think out of all the new movies so far, The Force Awakens is the best.

I saw it also and I am in my 50's. Too much women empowerment with a dyke robot. As Lando's pansexuality was just fucking dumb. Ron Howard was the clean up director as the last 2 quit.

I'll eventually see it when its on Blueray..

ReggieDurango 06-17-2018 05:21 PM

You’re right - it was so blah, so very meh
