How long do you normally register domains for?
 

1 year? 2 years? Do you lock in for the long term or play it by ear (yearly)?

Whatever my registrars auto renews to. One of them does it every year, and another every 2. As long as they renew for me, I dont really care.

Depends on the domain. Some domains I use and I am sure I want to keep I'll do for years at a time. Others just yearly.

One of my domains just came up today really. The Titty Ranch ? Women With Huge Beautiful Breasts!

Important domains should be multiple years.
Some just 1 year but set on auto renew.

1 year to test. If it works well and generate good income, I extend it ;)

2 mostly, and its on auto renew, except the fuckers, didn't notify us for the last one, pissed me off. Good thing a friend brought attention to it ! :2 cents: :thumbsup

one of my site was making good money so one day i got drunk and i renewd it for 10 years . and sent 500 bucks to digitalocean.

now that site doesnt make shit.

1-10 years depending on site which is on domain and how much money it brings.

This is my strategy for about 33% of my domains

1 year for most domains,
EXCEPT if it's an important site that I expect to be running for years to come,
BUT never for too long that I might forget about renewing it.

If it is a money making domain, 10 years. If it is just something that does not much, 1 year.
