Anyone fly Virgin Atlantic upper class transatlantic?

Going to Sicily and looking at flying Virgin to heathrow from Miami.

Looks decent. I usually fly Delta but their fare for the same route is 3k higher.

Last time i flew from London to LA on Virgin a driver picked me up from my home just outside of London, drove to Heathrow Airport got VIP through customs and into the VIP lounge. Had a Champagne breakfast, shower and massage, then first onto the plane, sat at the bar on the plane for most of the flight drinking way too many drinks. Had an amazing 4 course dinner with wine. Had a full reclining chair/bed which was heated if needed. On approach to LA had breakfast, VIP through immigration and customs and was driven to my home in San Diego in a huge limo stuffed with my two suitcases and two mountain bikes i had made in London.

Absolutely amazing service but at a cost of $12,800. They did chuck in a round trip business class ticket for free, that could be used at anytime :thumbsup:thumbsup I should note that this was a few years ago and the prices are sure to have risen for First Class ?

This ticket is about 6k Mia to Palermo return with Virgin over the pond to heathrow the Alitalia business class the rest of the segments.

That’s fucking cheap for a 17 hour each way flight.

17 hours? you going via Japan or something?

Miami - London is about 8.5, then 2.5 London - Sicily

I've flown '1st class' (as it was called then) from London to LAX before. Fantastic experience. Got 'Bumped Up' due to all my previous flights in business class.

Defiantly worth it at least once in your life :)

It's very strange how airlines work:2 cents:. When i first came to the USA i booked a flight to Penang, Malaysia. Now from London this flight would normally take around 10-12 hours with a short stop over in Jakarta to switch to a smaller plane.
From San Diego it took 37 hours with like 5 stops. Worst flying experience ever !!!!

Distance from London to Penang is 6,383.48 mi

Distance from San Diego to Penang is 8,833.27 mi
