US Supreme Court gives Amazon the BEST GIFT EVER
Online sales taxes FTW https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/21/supr...sales-tax.html
The biggest winner? Amazon. Think about its existing structural benefits. Compare to the typical mom and pop dropshipper... |
Why are you acting like Amazon, the new alt-right target via Trump, isn't negatively impacted? Amazing stock tanked today on the news.
Did you read the article you posted? The article you linked to says the ruling doesn't impact small businesses making less than $100,000, only large corporations. Amazon shares fall after Supreme Court ruling on sales tax, as brick-and-mortar retailers gain "Ruling may mean that third-party vendors selling on Amazon will have to pay sales tax, sending Target, Walmart higher" |
Oh wow, that could end up as millions for them..

I am looking at the situation like an ECONOMIST.
When there is a SYSTEMIC SHOCK, it is the smaller guys-the ones who are barely hanging on-that get wiped out first. The bigger players.. the ones with NETWORK SATURATION and LEVERAGE actually benefit the most. Sure, the change knocks everyone back... but who bounces back the fastest and is in the best position to take advantage? Quote:

I asked the same question in the other thread about this - no one replied. Does this apply to digital products ? (and unless there is a specific clause saying that it does not) Then this industry will suffer. Memberships, cam mins, vod and clips, currently zero sales tax paid. Now it is obviously very easy for suppliers of non tangible digital products to leave the US, otherwise they have to charge sales tax to their consumers. So, does this apply to digital goods, because it certainly does in Europe. |
