China holds anti aircraft drills against 2 American B-52 bombers

No mention of this by Trump.

Why is Trump letting China build up multiple military bases in the South China Sea?

"these anti-air drills come on the heels of two U.S. B-52 bombers challenging China’s claims of sovereignty over artificial islands it built in the South China Sea. On June 5, two B-52 bombers—which, unlike the B-1, are nuclear capable—flew within twenty miles of the Spratly Islands"

China Just Sent A Major Warning To The US In The South China Sea

The drills were reported by the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post (SCMP), which cited an article in the People’s Liberation Army Daily, the Chinese military’s official newspaper. The drills simulated defeating an aerial attack, the SCMP said, and including “three target drones making flyovers of a ship formation at varying heights and directions.” The PLA Daily report said that the drones were used to “precisely verify the feasibility and effectiveness to ensure a close stimulation of an aerial attack target.” The Chinese military’s paper added that drones had been used during exercises at least thirty times before. As the SCMP pointed out, the Chinese military didn’t release many details about the drills, including the precise timing, location or what Chinese Navy ships participated.

Bases have been being built for a while, what's happened on Trumps watch is they've actually militarised them and moved weapons in, why the fuck that's been allowed is any ones guess.

Trump cancelled TPP day one of his presidency, that handed China the area no repercussions and it was also the ultimate gift for Russia. TPP hasn't been replaced with nothing from the USA to slow China significantly so basically USA just needs to get the fuckout now and let China progress.

NATO holds military drills in Eastern Europe against Russian Army. No mention of this by Putin. The sky is falling?

Joint protest by:

Usa, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. collectively called.. TPP

Would of made them think twice about it, with Trump going it alone a small country like the USA does not have much clout with China they'll do what they want.

The problem is what do you actually do about it? No matter who is in office, the artificial island thing is a tough one to solve. Added to this the Brits set the precedent for it back in WW2 when they built a off shore structure outside of their territorial waters. This structure was later claimed by some random people who literally turned it into a country called Sealand. ( https://www.sealandgov.org/ )

I don't like Trump, but short of going to war what do you do about it? They created a land mass in international waters then claimed that land as if it were a natural undiscovered island.. Short of every western/asian country putting sanctions on them I don't know what anyone can actually do about it.

crockett's right. aus is wrong.

That's my argument, USA tossed out any ability to impose sanctions beyond their 23% trade share. No country is big enough to take on China by themselves, especially when the countries most affected are in Chinas back pocket at an increasing rate.. as Trump isolates the American market.

But who else has stood up to push them off the island? US, Japan maybe SK (I don't know) have puffed our chest out and do these fly bys and so forth, but who else has stood up to put pressure other than harsh words on China?

It's just like Russia with Crimea.. No one really aided Ukraine other than harsh words and a bit of military sales long after the fact. As long as dictators like Putin and country like China feel no real threat of anything significant happening they will do these thing.

Granted Trump is 100% to blame for not acting on US sanctions with Russia. In that issue the world did act accordingly by placing sanctions which were harming Russia's economy.. Trump undermined that and he is 100% to blame for those actions..

wait, now you think it's good to sanction China? You've been arguing against how silly (nice words) tariffs are, now you're pointing your finger at USA that we didn't sanction china.

jtfc.

Your to small of country too put meaningful sanctions on China, without harming your own economy because without their trade your fucked, just like basically every other country, so unless you do it as a combined group, individual countries can't afford the risk of Chinese confrontation.

Trumps not leading the world, he's dividing it and that division suits no one more than China.

dyna mo 06-26-2018 11:13 AM

and without our trade and debt, china's f'ed.

I've never claimed trump is leading the world. But people like you prove he's leading you. You're much more focused on trump than your own country. he is your leader. He's simply my potus.

Exactly this.

China's moves in the Pacific and their new "island base" was started before Trump. Then Trump took office and walked away from the TTP giving China and Russia a huge win.
