Checks with porn references
I fucking hate when checks come in the mail and in the memo they list the site name! Now I have to decide if I throw the check away or try to cash it and hope the bank teller doesn't see it. I feel like companies do this shit on purpose. They have to know US banks frown on porn.
I might just try taking it to a check cashing place. |
I guess that's why they are doing that, to make you throw the check in the trash. Always hated that, but I must say most of my checks are neutral. It's more problematic with Paxum payments.
Another annoying thing I always disliked it affiliate programs showing porn images on the webmaster login page. Do they think we will buy a pass to their paysites? |
Agree, all this should be porn-free to avoid problems with the banks/authorities: 1. company name 2. check/paxum/wire memo 3. affiliate program website.
You should bug the program about it, I have had some success in the past. |
luckily never had such problems and i moved from checks long time ago.
|
Being as how I make zero money whatsoever, I negate this problem.
|
Use Paxum . . .

hmm... sucks... glad I stopped using checks 10+ years ago.
|
Use wire. It costs $25 - $30 and it's quick.

I remember going into the bank about 2003 with 85 cheques (we sent traffic to a lot of sponsors) the business banking woman said "I've never seen so many cheques before!" Those were the days :)
|
Walmart/Kroger/etc. Only costs a dollar or two. A lot of smoke shops and carryouts around me have cashed my checks before with no problems, too.
|
Long long ago when I was new to this business, I screwed up when I was signing up for a affiliate site and I accidentally put the name of my site in the "pay to" section of the form. When my first check from them came it was made out to Xtreme Ass Fucking. Not only was it made out to that, it was addressed to that name with my address.
When I contacted them they suggested I try to deposit it and if the bank won't take it they will send me a new one. I just deposited it into the ATM and it went through no problem. I wonder if they even noticed it or were just looking at the numbers. |
I had to rent a P.O. box at a very young age because of this, since I kept getting a bunch of checks to my family's mailbox with names like Triple X Cash and Bang Bros on them :Oh crap
|
My checks were to my business so I had to deposit them. A few times they had explicit names on them but I still deposited them. Worse is the companies that paid my sites, not my business. Or they’d address the envelope to the site name. Me and friend had something like “gayhairyfuckers”; postal guys knew what I did but not all po box guys did. I’d pick up mail and hear about it!
How about 1099 tax forms to site names? Got those, too. |

You don't get it.. I could give a shit what people think of what I've done for a living for 17 years but I don't want my bank account closed cause some POS put their website on my check's memo. |
↑^↑ Worth repeating
|
This reminds me of the penis enlargement programs that used to offer 100% money back guarantees. Dissatisfied customers would be too embarrassed to cash the penis enlargement refund checks at their banks.
|
No one in bank cared or bothered last millennium.
After 9/11 everyone is considered terrorist or funded by Al-Qaeda. Until cleared. :eyecrazy |

And if it makes you feel better take a damn sharpie and black over the memo section |

I cashed the check at walmart and it was an old lady that didn't read it. I'm not a pussy but aren't you the big man calling people names.. haha loser. |

I guess then you are a big man too |
Last week I talked to a webbie in Europe who had been contacted by his bank about his incoming payments from a e-wallet provider that is popular among adult webbies. They were not satisfied with his answer about 'online marketing' and asked for statements or invoices. He sent them a pdf file of his statement and had his bank account cancelled due to the porn nature of the transactions.
He was told they posed a risk to the bank because of regulatory demands by authorities. It did not help to point out adult was legal. They said it was up to them to decide who they wanted to do business with and whom not. Make sure your Paxum statements don't contain references to the websites they are running :-) |

Doesn't make much sense. You're in the US, just do a deposit via your ATM or your Mobile phone (by taking a picture) I've never had the Sponsor's URL mentioned on my checks, often my User ID and the Sponsor's legal name. You can also contact your sponsors and ask them to get it removed on your next payment. |
Gonna ask Famedollars & Juicyads for something more discreet also.
|
I ended up cashing it at a Walmart. Using an ATM or app to deposit it doesn't change that a small town bank will see the check.
|
Earthclass Mail has a check depositing service. Pair that with a major bank and it may help alleviate concerns.

actually btw, fame & juicy dont have porn references on checks, but in the envelopes that they're mailed in, just wanted to clarify that |
