This is called screwdriver - a drink for women. Don't take it as a personal insult, but this is something that cheap whores here do. Men don't drink screwdrivers, cocktails etc. If you drink vodka, drink it cold from small 40-50 ml shots - w/o ice, w/o juice and other girlish things.

Screw Driver has soda in it, btw my wife drinks straight vodka, I've seen her in Thailand get in drinking matches with Russians usually military guys on leave, always fun! Beware Kiwi women, they don't get drunk till the third bottle is finished heheh.

Anything with artificial favouring in it beats my guts up bad, because I've drunk so much of it in my past, Baldy and Cointreau used to be best friends. 3/4 glass of Cointreau, splash of soda water on top till it just turns cloudy. I'd drink 15 of those over lunch a few years back.

Straight vodka shots is for alcoholic losers. The entire point for vodka is to have no taste. Every other type of hard liquor is meant to be sipped and enjoyed for the taste, except vodka. Vodka is such a shitty liquor that you have to slam it down like a homeless drunk.

If you want to drink it longer, just try to do it a Russian way - eat lots of food between every shot. Vodka w/o food (закуска) is something what only alcoholics do.

USA: Screwdriver = Vodka and Orange Juice

The same as everywhere. Course the orange juice can be replaced with apple juice, grape juice, pomegranate juice and even cola or something like that. While vodka and orange juice is the classic one. But anyways, it's a drink for cheap worse here. A straight man won't drink that shit (they prefer vodka, whiskey and cognac/brandy) as well as a normal lady won't drink it too (she will prefer some cocktail... or vodka).

Actually Vodka is #1 alcohol by its purity. If you drink quality vodka only, if won't suffer of hangover on the next morning. The #2 in that list is held by gin and the #3rd place goes to cognac. If you drink anything else (e.g. cocktails, screwdrivers, tequila, grappa, whiskey/bourbon or even lots of beer/wine), the next morning you will ask yourself: "god, why I haven't died yesterday!"

P.S. To be honest, according to the market statistics, whiskey is #2 alcohol drink after vodka in Russia. So a lot of people here are used to drink that stinky shit.
