Buddy is the most socialized dog you have met; if he doesn't like someone, I pay attention.

He also pays a lot of attention to my cancerous ulcers. He used to concentrate on my left arm, now it is all about the right.

Yep, dogs can smell it. I heard they also can smell a Parkinson disease on the earlier stage when medics are unable to detect it.

dogs seam to read body language very well and that probably has more to do with it than any smell. But, they can be duped just the same. I'm sure ted bundy was around dogs often and they probably got along with him fine. Bad people own dogs too remember.

Dogs go through two phases when they are puppies that will develop reactions for their entire lives.

My Great Dane pup is going through the second fear phase now. At 5 months old he's 60lbs and has started being overly cautious on our walks and overly startled at loud stimuli. He Freaked Out at a little ankle biter barking today and if I wasn't calm, and he wasnt wearing his harness, it would have been a big problem. Dogs smell fear and if you're afraid when they are it makes them feel insecure and nobody wants that. Stay calm, help them center themselves and let them inpect what scares them in a calm manner and all is good.

One time a trainer told me that my dog really liked me

So I said of course it's my dog of course he loves me

The trainer told me that is not the case how many people have dogs that do not like them

don't forget, some dogs are assholes too. an asshole dog can smell a cool person and still act like an asshole.
