Have you heard of this workout method? Simple logic almost nobody does
I am sure for those who work out many think going to the max every time is the best way... that's what i do as well. However the guy above has an interesting method i never thought about, but it sounds so logical... Do 7 out of 10 of what you do and you're not sore, so you can do it more often, which results in more training over the long run. From now on im gonna try this :thumbsup |
Based on what he said in the first couple of minutes I could tell he's talking about "leaving one in the tank", which is the way I work out also. I do have aches and pains from a nagging hip flexor strain and some shoulder issues, but I work out pretty hard and almost never have the kind of muscle soreness which keeps me from functioning normally.
More volume = more gains. It's tough to get that volume if you go so hard that you're always too sore to work out. And what he's talking about at 4:20 is what keeps you fit...having fun. I'll stand in one spot and do power cleans for 30 minutes straight because I fucking love doing the movement and I'm always trying to perfect it. Looking at that same 30 minutes as grueling work will not be sustainable. |

It made a lot of sense to me when I saw this myself. He does mention that you need to push it a bit more occasionally, especially if training for an event or match but the method for the day to day seems to be a good idea for sure. More so if you are getting older.
