I would use the first version.

The second version could be a DC issue.

whether uk.domain or domain.uk is always a separate page for google. better to use the first cheerful. eg. uk.domain. nl.domain. us.domain it makes no sense to buy so many domains.

i was thinking the same., too many domains to manage and if site gets popular, there are always people out there , who will snatch up available cctld.
