Sacha Baron Cohen’s New Show Gets Dismal Ratings in Debut
 

Sacha Baron Cohen’s new television show earned disappointing numbers in its debut, despite the controversy the comedian generated leading up to the airing of the first episode.

Prior to the debut of “Who is America” on Sunday night, it emerged that Cohen had employed a number of disguises and fake cover stories in order to conduct interviews with public officials, including posing as a disabled veteran to get an interview with former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

I think the problem is...when you automatically disenfranchise half of your potential audience, then you start out screwed from the beginning.

Which sucks. I think he is funny as hell. Loved his Ali G show years ago.

But when you start out a show whose premise is that you are going to try to attack half the people in the country with scorn and contempt...that's just bad business.

he lampooned Bernie Sanders in the show, you don't see Sanders whining about it like the conservatives are.

that said, the show was not funny.

I still haven't seen this movie but I will check it out.

I thought he would have made a really good Freddy Mercury in the new Queen flick, but the deal fell apart somehow.

I liked him in Hugo. A really good movie too.

Nailed it! If you watch and feel he is taking the piss out of someone 'in power' its funny. If you feel he's taking the piss out of you (Or your values / beliefs) then it is completely different.

Ali G / Borat took the piss in a harmless way - This show doesn't do it in the same way... :2 cents:
