No collussion. No Russians. Nothing to see here.

insane that Bolton was even given a security clearance, let alone hired as NSA Director.

found in the affidavit supporting Butina’s charges, are allegations that Butina, along with the Kremlin and NRA-connected Russian politician, Alexander Torshin, convinced John Bolton to go on Russian TV to promote Butina’s gun rights group, ‘ The Right to Bear Arms’.

In 2013, Bolton, who is now Trump’s National Security Advisor with a top security clearance, worked with Butina, who is now alleged to be a Russian spy, to create a video promoting the right to bear arms in Russia.

The Bolton video appears to be another plank in a bridge built by Russia to conservative political organizations inside the United States. It's unclear why Russian leaders wanted to curry favor with the NRA, but Torshin and Keene appeared to have developed close ties in the years prior to the 2016 election.

It's a relationship that has outsize importance now that the FBI is reportedly investigating whether Torshin illegally funneled money to the NRA to assist the Trump campaign in 2016, as McClatchy reported in January. The NRA has denied wrongdoing.

Remember a couple months back when trump told the NRA the he would never let them down?

here's a clip of Butina "randomly" picked by trump asking him questions about russia sanctions

Butina had traveled to Las Vegas for FreedomFest, an annual conservative event where Trump was speaking. Trump, who had announced his White House run in June, fielded questions from the audience. Butina took a turn at the microphone: “I am visiting from Russia,” she said.

“Ahhhhh, Putin!” Trump interjected, prompting laughter from the crowd as he added a mocking riff about the current president: “Good friend of Obama, Putin. He likes Obama a lot. Go ahead.”

“My question will be about foreign politics,” Butina said, and then asked Trump if he would continue “damaging” economic sanctions against Russia as president. Trump appeared not to know who Butina was. After going off on Obama and digressing into trade talk, he responded that he would “get along very nicely” with Putin.

“I don’t think you’d need the sanctions,” Trump said.

the NRA reported spending a record $55 million on the 2016 elections, including $30 million to support Trump – triple what the group devoted to backing Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race. Most of that was money was spent by an arm of the NRA that is not required to disclose its donors.

Nothing to see here!

There's no Russian involvement in our elections this is FAKE NEWS!

In December 2015, an NRA delegation including Erickson, Keene, NRA Vice President Pete Brownell, major NRA donor Joe Gregory, and Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke traveled to Moscow, where they met with Kremlin officials—including Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, one of the first Russians sanctioned by the Obama administration after Putin annexed Crimea in 2014.

Ok...now that I look at the video, I don't think his life was in danger. Maybe if the guy was charging at him or something, but he was just standing there. From what I understood from reading the initial post was that the guy was on top of the shooter.

One thing about these guys who carry guns -- especially the ones who can't defend themselves otherwise -- is it gives them balls they normally wouldn't have. I wouldn't doubt it if the shooter fantasized about moments like this.

When you carry a gun, there's a possibility you're going to be shooting someone. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

=============

FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.

Torshin, a lifetime NRA member who has attended several of its annual conventions. At the group’s meeting in Kentucky in May 2016, Torshin spoke to Donald Trump Jr. during a gala event at the group’s national gathering in Kentucky in May 2016, when his father won an earlier-than-usual NRA presidential endorsement.

Torshin, a leading figure in Putin’s party, has been implicated in money laundering by judicial authorities in Spain, as Bloomberg News first revealed in 2016. Spanish investigators alleged in an almost 500-page internal report that Torshin, who was then a senator, capitalized on his government role to assist mobsters laundering funds through Spanish properties and banks, Bloomberg reported

Spanish Prosecutor Said ‘Trump’s Son Should be Concerned’ About Wiretaps of Butina’s Alleged Handler Torshin

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has received wiretaps obtained by Spanish police which implicate Donald Trump Jr. in a plot to meet with Alexander Torshin, a high-ranking official of Russia’s Central Bank, according to a federal prosecutor in Spain. And, the prosecutor notes, those wiretaps don’t bode well for the president’s son.
