Need some business advice

Hi Everyone,

I could use some business advice please....

We are rolling out a couple of new products. The new products are distinct from each other, and yet they compliment and even overlap each other a bit.

If you were shopping and found products that you wanted to buy but they tended to overlap, would you prefer to

1. Buy the items separately, making your own decision about what to buy, or

2. Buy bundles. Get this, and get the other things for free.

I've been struggling with this all day and can't decide the best way to sell it or even present it as options. Brain no working gooder today :(

If I knew the items were compatiable and I could afford the extra I would go for a bundle.

For example, I have recently been looking at getting an older GoPro as a present. It needed to be in A1 condition and boxed.
If the seller or site had been offering bundles for example, cases, selfie sticks, memory cards etc and providing the priced were reasonable I think I would have paid more for more.

How much overlap?

Why not have a main product and promote the second as an add on?

Don't risk confusing customers with too much information or too many choices.

Sell them on their own at first. Then sell them in a bundle.

Mark you are way overthinking things. It's a legitimate question but if you beat yourself in the head trying to answer it, before actually testing, you are just stalling and wasting time that could have been used to test.

I agree with Bladewire. Start with your core product, eliminate distractions. Over time, add new "add-ons" and you can decide whether or not to bundle once you have actual client feedback.

Right now you are just guessing. You need real data from real clients.

Why not do both ?

For example, Amazon do this all the time and are very successful at it. ie you buy one product but you have the option of bundling it with two or three other products at a reduced price

We do the same thing with tacamateurs.com and tacamateurs2.com. Two very similiar products but with totally different content. We sell them seperately but at the point of purchase, we offer them together as a bundle at a reduced price.

Heres an example https://www.tacamateurs.com/cgi-bin/...TAC1&tacid=250

I'd say we get around 30% go for the bundle options shown on that page

Probably the best business thread on GFY in a while. Thanks everyone for your advice! It's all really helpful. And yes Sly I'm over-thinking it. I'm STILL working on it. 10 hours already... geezuz.

If you buy them individually they cost 100% ... if you buy them in a bundle they cost 85%

Something like that?

Bring product 1 to market.
(wait)
Re-market product 2 to customers of product 1. Pitch as an exclusive add-on.

Upsells are always so much easier than new product introductions.

Yep that is the best route, tho for bundle examples is best to look at steam - if someone mastered selling bundles, that is them. I bought somany bundles just because they were cheap as fuck there and never touched them lol
