I haven't watched it yet, but it looks great. Prisoners was amazing.

The doppelgänger theme is kind of a bore but this one is good . . .

Never heard of this movie before but it looks great, especially since it's directed by Denis Villeneuve (Bladerunner 2049 and Arrival). I saw Prisoners a few years ago and it I liked it alot.

Me, I do not enjoy big budget super hero flicks, unless I watch it in IMAX 3D. Most of the shit produced today sucks. But every once in awhile comes along a movie that makes you actually use your brain. This to me is one of those flicks. If that's all you were able to get out of it, then you must live a pretty dull life.

I am going to have to watch Prisoners now.

Prisoners is one of my favorite movies from the last 10 years.

By the way, to everyone reading this thread. Nobody has posted any spoilers yet. Not even Google Expert. As I said, the movie makes you think.

I loved each one of his movies, but that one is not like the usual stuff he does....

I love Denis Villanueve work, especially Arrival and BladeRunner but I wasn't too crazy about this one. I did recognize it was made by a good director but it was annoyingly vague. There were too many blanks to fill in myself...and this is coming from someone who likes not having things spelled out for me. This movie makes up its own alphabet, much less spell anything out.

Prisoner was amazing

I stopped watching trailers because they reveal too much, but as soon as he is the leading actor, prolly it's a good movie.

By far his best movie and one of the best in the last decade probably. Bladerunner 2049 and Arrival sucked big time. He's probably gonna fuck up Dune too.

I've fallen asleep twice trying to watch this movie two times over the last two days, because of this thread.

I'll try again today. I love the cinematography. for some reason late at night the pace of this movie just puts me down out like a light. I'll try to watch it later this afternoon so I won't be so prone as to fall asleep :thumbsup

Ok I've started watching it now I'm 20 minutes into it.

Still watching this. I've made some home made chicken soup and cut up some steaks in between. I'm 51 minutes in and he just met himself for the first time.

Ok I'm an hour and 7 minutes into it. Very perplexing. I'm wondering if he's a split personality. His mother (Isabella Rossellini) how to strange reaction when he told her. Their girlfriend/wife look the same, but one is pregnant. Strange. I think he's psycho.

So now he broke 8 to the other guys place. Why would he do that? Who does that?

I am pretty sure he is not schizophrenic. Every scene that happens in the movie has a meaning. The spiders have nothing to do with schizophrenia. They are representations of the women in his life and how he envisions them. You can never tell when there is something real going on or if what is going on is taking place in his mind. Every time he is having interactions with himself, this is taking place in his mind. The two guys are the same guy. But he is struggling with wanting a more exciting life. The school teachers girlfriend is never a spider but after the fight in the car and the wreck, the window is cracked and is shown as a spider web. When his mind was pursuing the idea of, and the excitement of infidelity, it still eventually lead to spiders. He sees the hooker with the spider head, I think he is starting to have a hard time distinguishing his sexual conquests from something that's going to eventually hold him down.

One could probably write about all of this for hours, because every single scene had an unexplained meaning. The story is shown to us like one of those 3d images where you have to cross your eyes to see whats really there. If nobody tells you to cross your eyes, so to speak, you pretty much can't see whats really taking place.

Sounds complex. It was a good movie but it put me to sleep two nights in a row trying to watch it
