My problem with Chaturbate after installing SSL certificate

I installed SSL certificate on july 10 and the day after started a very large drop in Chaturbate hits and sign ups!

Is there a solution to all that or I need to revocate the certificate to return making money?

Suggestions are welcome.

You did the right thing to get SSL. Make sure your browser shows a green lock on all your pages.

My understanding is Google views a site with https as a totally different site than the http version. So probably your site is being re-indexed and re-ranked as though its a new one. It may take time for traffic to propagate back to where it was. And after that, it should in theory begin increasing past its former highest levels.

Without SSL, how many people are going to fight with their browser in order to view your site? Some, maybe. But for most people, its too easy to just click elsewhere.

Also, check your CPanel metrics to make sure your site hasn't been limited recently. If it has, it means a certain amount of people are experiencing extended wait times to connect to your site. If the wait is more than 3 seconds, some people will continue to wait. But most people will lose interest and click elsewhere. The solution is to upgrade your hosting.

As for sales, there will always be peaks and valleys. It depends on so many variables, like the frequency of people's paychecks, bills/rent/payments becoming due. People can get tired of, or have a falling out with models who they used to tip, and seek fresh meat. People often take breaks from CTB for a while, until that urge hits them again.

Hang in there.

Thanks for your detailed answer, I really appreciate it.
I know the importance of SSL but I'm also sure that what it's happening with Chaturbate sales and visits is not "peaks and valleys". If you watch the attached image in my initial post everything changed on july 10 when I installed SSL and we are speaking of a very strange change. I work as affiliate since more than 10 years and I have seen a lot of strange things but this time is something with no reasons.
I'm not the only one having this situation (Read here).
I contacted Chaturbate and I'm waiting for their answer but I will probably revocate the certificate: my blog/site only redirects people so an http can be safe for me and my visitors ;)

Interesting. Yes I see what you mean. If you can, please share with us any information Chaturbate may give you regarding this topic.

Chaturbate answered me with an automatic answer with no sense, so no possibilities to understand what's happening :Oh crap
I revocated a few minutes ago the SSL certificate hoping to not have problems with CB visits and signups and returning making money. Nothing changes for me between "Secure" or "not" because my visitors have just to read, watch and being redirected.

580,000 Hits and 19 registrations?

Sounds like a lot of Bots had a field day with your links.

Maybe your "new" SSL site hasn't been picked up on, by Bots.

My experience with SSL is the following! A huge drop of hits but the signups increased with 30% (maybe because of the mobile version of WLs), sales are pretty stable no big ups no big downs!

Bladewire 07-31-2018 08:22 AM

Was your HTTPS site linking out to HTTPS Chaturbate? If you were linking out to HTTP Chaturbate your data wasn't being transferred over.

HTTP Referrers disappear when going from HTTPS to HTTP

I just setup ssl on Chaturbate, is the problem your not showing secure on Chaturbate or that your traffic is just low?

I never experienced that, we migrated 4 sites over to https, you just got to make sure you redirect ALL your traffic to the https address either in apache or in your htaccess

Traffic totally down and money near zero after installing SSL.

I revocated SSL certificate a few minutes ago, hope all will return normal

Did you try to promote their site directly instead? I am getting better results that way than with promoting white labels. Just my experience.

What do you mean with "directly"?

PS: my experience until july 10 was good: just 2 embed cam on the top right of my site and $400/month since the beginning (and visits/registragions/income growing month by month)

3xmedia 07-31-2018 12:55 PM

this thread is confusing, because some people are talking about switching their OWN sites to https and some are talking about switching to https their Chaturbate WLs.

OP installed SSL on his own domain/site where he promotes CB but some people in this thread probably mean he is talking about switching his Chaturbate WL domain do https.

Now take one of your white labels you migrated to https and go to (do not use www) https://yourdomain.com and tell me if it goes to to your white label or a blank page. My traffic dropped significantly when I migrated my white labels to https and I get blank page when not using the www. I don't think its negatively affecting me because I don't link to the non www white label domain, but it still has me concerned.

cybermike 07-31-2018 06:57 PM

Did you guys not read the instructions when converting to https for your chaturbate wls? It gave instructions for the non www part of the url

Redirecting the domain apex
As CNAME records cannot be added to the domain apex, we provide a redirect solution. This should only be used if you've added the www subdomain.

To redirect whitelabel.com to Home | John Dewar & Sons Fine Whisky Emporium, please create an A record on whitelabel to 35.190.1.20

whitelabel.com IN A 35.190.1.20

What the above post is actually referring to is a SSL for the naked domain.

The reply below was given to my same question, in the thread

Yes.

CB does not make SSL for the naked domain, only the subdomains.

So http works because of the cname, www works because it has SSL.

You must make the https for the naked domain yourself, eiter on your own server or just put it on Cludflare.

Thus even after you have changed the CNAME and A NAME records, do NOT
expect :

https: (whitelabel). com/net etc to redirect to your WL, unless you make the https for the naked domain yourself as per above.

I noticed that yesterday too. Nice addition, CTB. Hopefully it'll give indication of whether traffic is actually up, or if a site is just being botted/crawled.

venus 08-01-2018 06:41 PM

first on your website, you have to have all your traffic using https, you do this by either having your host modify your httpd.conf in apache or by simply adding to your htaccess the below, this will force everyone to use https on your site (its what I use on mine). so no matter what url they use for your site they will get the https

------------------
RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.yourdomainname.com/$1 [L,R=301]
-------------------

then in your DNS you add so they can verify
CNAME
Host "wl-verify-0adc8c682c4b728a71" (this is the verify code they give you)
Points to "wl-verify.chaturbate.com"

then add
CNAME
Host "chat"
Points to "cname.whitelabel.chaturbate.com"

now you should be good to go...this is what I have for my site and its all working fine

I am doing this for
The Best Female Muscle and Female Bodybuilders Nude
Female Muscle affiliate program
Home | yourSEXvids.com
nats.landofvenus.com

all working perfect.
