Hey all

I wanted to post this thread separately from the thread about the dissolution of First Choice/Choice bank located here, as this deals specifically with how to get funds owed via the liquidation process.

here, and please pass on the info below to anyone you know who is owed funds as the deadline for filing an initial Notice of Claim is coming soon. The deadline for the first step is August 28

This process is going to take a long time and is broken down into a few steps.


Step 1

The first step is to file an initial Notice of Claim with the liquidator Cedric Flowers at the Central Bank of Belize. The email address to which you need to send the Notice is [email protected]

The Notice should include the following:

Name:
Address:
Email Address: (please use one you check frequently)
Account number: (your account number with Payoneer/First Choice)

While the woman at the Central Bank told me the above is all that is needed at this point, we have a group of peeps owed who are all working together via email and are also including the amount owed, a screenshot of the amount owed and a simple paragraph outlining how we are each individually owed.

This needs to be done by August 28, 2018


Step 2

Starting August 29, we have up to 60 days (the deadline is October 29) to file the actual Claim. This will involve the details and proof of what is owed and how/why (as FC partner or payee). I'll update this thread when I get more information on that.


Step 3
Between January 29, 2019 and February 28, 2019 (or possibly earlier, but by law those are the maximum deadlines) the liquidator will sort through the claims and the Choice bank assets liquidated and will respond to each claimant with their determination of what amount those owed will receive.

At this point no one outside Choice Bank and the Central Bank knows the value of Choice Bank assets liquidated, so it's impossible to know how much anyone owed will receive.


Step 4
Between March 1, 2019 and March 20, 2019, anyone owed who has not been repaid in full can make an objection. I REALLY hope this step won't be relevant to anyone legitimately owed funds.


Right now though, the most important thing to focus on is the initial Notice of Claim. That's a simple email with the info outlined in Step 1 above, there's no form to fill out or anything like that.

If you're owed funds by FC/Choice Bank you have to send in your Notice of Claim by August 28. If you know anyone who is owed funds that isn't aware of this please pass on this info


Myself and a few peeps also owed money are doing an anon email group to share info and work together on this, if you're owed funds and either need help with your Notice or would like to participate in the sharing of info please shoot me an email at [email protected] and I'll BCC you in to our conversations. To respect everyone's privacy basically what I'm doing is emailing myself and BCCing every member of the group, that way everyone has the same info without having to out themselves, as quite a few peeps are using email addresses that contain their cam name.

To be clear: I do NOT need to know your name, your cam name, any personal info other than an email address through which I can BCC you when I send summaries of the info we've all exchanged.

I really hope we all get our money back, and again, if you're owed money and want to participate in the group send me an email with the subject line First Choice/Choice Bank and if you know anyone owed who isn't clear on what to do, please let them know about this thread and the anon email group option.

So fucking sick of us having to fight to get our own damn money. Good luck y'all.

Everyone is very welcome, and I agree it's very nightmare-ish!

What I found to be a red flag is that there wasn't an email with instructions sent out by either Choice Bank or FirstChoice Pay. It was someone affiliated with LiveCamModelShows and a SW mod who really broke the news.

Which, I guess it was an AdultWork studio that really broke the news of FCP/Choice Bank to begin with, so this shouldn't be of any real surprise.

Is it normal for companies to be this damn quiet when it comes to sharing valuable information, in situations such as this? First time I've ever been impacted by a bank going out of business.

As mentioned in the first post, I'm jumping through the hoops right now and will share my results (hopefully getting my $1,500 back! Least I didn't take that huge of a loss).

My real question: I had another couple hundred in YouKandy when that company went out of business. I'm wondering if I (and others that YouKandy owes) can get their money directly from Choice Bank through this process.

I've heard rumors that Silverstein has a class-action going against YouKandy, but haven't really been able to find anything backing those rumors.
