Facts are Trump has lost his 11 point lead there even after campaigning there yesterday.

Trump has pissed away all his political capital in just 18 months. Unheard of.

This district should be more than 11 points ahead for Balderson. This is a huge GOP referendum against Trump.

It is bad for Trump no matter what happens. The polls showed this a dead heat before he came here to campaign and obviously he didn't move the needle.

The precincts in Franklin county are those tiny blue smudges of northern Columbus metro area. Which would be left leaning as are most metro areas.

I can't see how this result is anything but bad for the republicans. Even barely making it even costs 5M$ and a presidential visit. Something has gone wrong, whether it is dislike of Trump, or dislike of congressional republicans.

Which is good news for centrists democrats and independents. Most of us are not socialists. The people that are turning red districts are centrists. Bill Clinton, not Hillary.

I do not even know what happened, but it seems to me like this was a huge win for Democrats - even if they lost. This was a district the Democrats haven't won in thirty-five years. Just the fact that the Democrats came so close is a wake up call for Republicans.

Also, take a look at the money they invested. From what little I saw on TV tonight (which wasn't very much) the Republicans spent $5 million while the Democrats spent $1 million.

It's a special election.. Only die hard voters turn out... Democrats went all in no doubt... Dead people voting and all

I think it will be a tough one for a Democrat to win this seat.. Ohio is middle of nowhere with lots of uneducated people in the rural areas. These are the people that still believe everything Trump says..

Usually you dont flip a seat like this all of the sudden. It usually takes a few close elections to cause a long held seat to flip.

Being it's this close in one election says a lot, but I'd still be surprised if he wins.
