So who is sending these blackmail emails with email:password around now and who was hacked?

Getting a ton of these extortion emails the past days, trying to get me to pay $1000-$1100 in bitcoins.

Since I don't even own a webcam (with which they are trying to blackmail) and the password is very old, I'm not worried, however, apparently some pr0n sites sold data, are trying to get money one way or another by sending these emails, or were actually hacked.

Anybody else?

I got a couple on different email accounts.

It must be a very old database because one of them was to one of my old affiliate manager's old email address like [email protected] which hasn't been used in like 6 years

desmoines 08-09-2018 06:43 PM

Mine is old as well, but it was a generic password i used a lot. Checked roboform and it is only on older affiliate networks of which most don't even exist anymore.

lezinterracial 08-10-2018 03:21 AM

Do you have the bitcoin address they listed? Curious to check the balance and see who paid.

kmanrox 08-10-2018 03:23 AM

If you don't send me $1000 in BTC I'm going to expose the illegal porn site that I'm a member on that you own.

Wait....

Naughty 08-10-2018 03:25 AM

Haha.

@lez..., no and I am not at all interested;-)

CurrentlySober 08-10-2018 04:07 AM

The ones I get are to an address that I have only ever posted on GFY once, and have NEVER used to sign up for an affiliate program.

Also, my purported password is certainly incorrect. I have never use 'inthenavy!' as a password EVER since I first went online

Dead 08-10-2018 04:22 AM

Ive received a few as well, super old info and like others, the password was close but not exact. laughable at best!

There's a bunch of scams out there.. According to this article the scammers are targeting 'wealthy' people. So I feel pretty safe..

Naughty 08-11-2018 02:02 AM

I think mine was from the PHPFreakz hack, I checked my emailaddress somewhere to see on what lists it was. It was on 6 hacked lists

@Gspot, I know that is what was meant, I just am not interested in checking it:-)

Knock yourself out................:1orglaugh

I do know xxxxxxx is your password. Lets get right to the purpose. No person has paid me to investigate you. You do not know me and you're probably wondering why you're getting this email?

actually, I installed a malware on the adult videos (pornography) website and there's more, you visited this web site to have fun (you know what I mean). While you were watching video clips, your web browser started out working as a RDP having a key logger which provided me with access to your display and web camera. Immediately after that, my software gathered your complete contacts from your Messenger, FB, as well as e-mailaccount. Next I created a double video. First part shows the video you were watching (you have a good taste haha), and second part shows the view of your web cam, and it is you.

You get two solutions. We are going to check out these possibilities in details:

Very first solution is to ignore this e-mail. In this case, I am going to send your very own video recording to every one of your personal contacts and visualize concerning the awkwardness you will definitely get. Do not forget if you happen to be in a romantic relationship, exactly how it will affect?

Second alternative would be to compensate me $1000. We are going to call it a donation. In such a case, I will quickly eliminate your videotape. You can carry on with daily life like this never occurred and you surely will never hear back again from me.

You'll make the payment through Bitcoin (if you don't know this, search "how to buy bitcoin" in Google search engine).

BTC Address: 1MJJvcKS35sEoXyF9FFoVRe3c5DZW53psX
[CASE-SENSITIVE so copy and paste it]

If you may be wondering about going to the cops, look, this message cannot be traced back to me. I have taken care of my moves. I am also not trying to charge a fee a huge amount, I wish to be compensated. I have a unique pixel in this email message, and at this moment I know that you have read this mail. You now have one day in order to pay. If I don't get the BitCoins, I will definitely send your video recording to all of your contacts including friends and family, coworkers, and so forth. Nonetheless, if I do get paid, I will destroy the video right away. If you want evidence, reply Yeah! & I definitely will send out your video recording to your 8 contacts. It's a nonnegotiable offer and thus please don't waste my personal time and yours by responding to this message.

All of those are going directly to trash without opening them. Same as all the Nigerian princes, lottery wins and inheritance scams..:thumbsup

GAMEFINEST 08-11-2018 02:13 PM

Not here but thanks for heads up

3xmedia 10-07-2018 07:16 AM

Got it too. I use unique password for each sponsor/program. The password stated in the email was used for Twistys aff. program (quite old account).

The passwords used in this scam seem to be a few years old. If you get one of these and it contains an old password of yours, see what you can figure out which site or sites you used it on, and post it here. Let's see where this goes.

Probably hacked. It's enough someone has some old wp blog with some shitty plugin on their server and EVERYTHING on that server is vulnerable. They'll upload a php shell, and can access configuration files for other scripts/domains and get data from those databases. Bigger issue is people storing unhashed passwords.

Get about 10-20 a day if I check my junk mail. Hard to understand as their english skills are not so good.

SBJ 10-07-2018 10:04 AM

I've received 3 of them and last time I responded that password123 was last used a decade ago. I now only use "ƐᄅƖpɹoʍssɐd"

The 1st one I'm not going to lie scared me till I remember that my laptop camera is covered and not even pointed at me as I use 2 LCDs for my displays.

Cameltoepro 10-07-2018 11:08 AM

Yeah got one myself..was going to reply telling them go ahead and tell everyone I know about what websites I go to...I could use the extra traffic to my sites..lol

baddog 10-08-2018 10:27 AM

A friend got it a few days ago; the password was wrong, but close enough to make him wonder where the info came from.

dillfly2000 10-08-2018 10:44 AM

I'm pretty secure my password is my mothers maiden name.

The password those emails are sending me is a low security one I've used for years. It's possible I used it at one time for something adult related but I doubt it. The email they are sending to doesn't use the password they are claiming and that email has never been linked to anything adult industry related....ever.

bloggerz 10-08-2018 01:24 PM

I've been getting them also. Password was incorrect but I wonder how many fall for it.

CaptainHowdy 10-08-2018 01:35 PM

I feel left out . . .
