Latest Intel security bug: if you use a VM, you're fucked
https://newsroom.intel.com/editorial...urity-threats/
Another cache related timing attack. Other VM instances running on the same host can potentially read data from yours. Even if you don't use a VM yourself, there's a good chance you use a third party service that does, so it could still affect you. For example, I wonder how many cryptocurrency exchanges use DigitalOcean, Amazon AWS etc to scale? All those private keys, just sitting in memory........ |
No one runs websites any more? We're all just talking about Trump?

i remember a few years ago when cloud was the future i think more and more people will go back to dedicated hardware for security reasons soon :2 cents:

Security is becoming a huge issue with everything, and we are constantly being violated. They hacked Target stores by going in through a third party vendor who runs their AC and heating software.
Remember how our parents couldn't set the time on the VCR? We have people out there who have no idea what a router or a modem is and they are completely unprotected and wide open. We are so fucked. |
I think for that it is required to have some knowledge, and most VM users dont have it.
