Amway is so 80's.

You interested in selling within an MLM? (serious business question)

I wouldn't say bad, but I don't do them and wouldn't be with one. Anytime you have to hit up your Friends and family to sell something I'm out.

Like every MLM there are a few people who catch lighting in a bottle and make a lot but most people end up making very little and just pissing off their friends and family. It's not a scam per se because they do sell products that you can buy, but the odds of every actually making much money from it is pretty small.

Well, it's obvious that if you have to PAY to be able to build a DOWNLINE then that is (at least to me) SCAMMY since it's not the PRODUCT that gives the system VALUE but the PAID RIGHT to refer people

But if you don't have to pay to get paid to refer, it's no different from a MULTI-TIER online affiliate system

Am I missing something?

My parents have had a sizable Amway business for just about 40 years now. You get out of it what you put into it.

I grew up around people who'd made a lot of money with Amway. So I can tell you first hand that it does work for some people.

So basically, only those who failed at it are the ones hating on it? (in addition to people clueless about how MLM works, of course)

Pyramid sellingis illegal in a lot of countries. Amway has had to restructure its business to comply to laws in various countries.

By 'pyramid sales' are you talking about paying to refer or completely free multi-tier referral rewards systems?

you should watch john oliver's take on MLMs. Very interesting.

lots of people who are successfull at these usually their whole life is about selling a fucking product... they cannot talk one minute without fucking promoting it and they drive people crazy... I don't think it's worth the sacrifice
