Cruz has found himself in an interesting place. He obviously hates Trump and made himself out as the anti-Trump only to have Trump win and then become very popular within the party. Now Cruz doesn't have the support of the party, Trump's supporters don't care for Cruz and he finds himself against a very solid candidate with a lot of money and a great plan.

A year ago the idea of Cruz losing his seat in Texas was crazy and now it just may happen. I think it is hilarious. That guy is an ass of the first order.

You're that little white thing on Ted Cruz's lip. That's about as low as it gets.

Rochard 09-12-2018 07:53 AM

I love the billboards with what Trump has said about Cruz....

This morning I read an article about Mitch McConnell is complaining about how they might lose 12 state races that they shouldn't even be competing for.... The economy is doing great, but everyone knows that this is entirely because of Obama and it's about to end, and everyone is pissed about how the President is acting. Every day it's more bullshit and drama - yesterday he talked about how we handled Puerto Rico was a huge success..... Today he said the hurricane is "massively wet" - just like a third grader would.

Well Texas is a lot like the US as a whole.. there is strong liberal pockets in the big cities but the rural areas are heavily conservative. The problem is even if there are more people voting Democrat its usually isolated to a handful of districts but a lessor population can still win by holding more rural districs.

Due to this, for a Democrat to win, it usually requires a much, much bigger suppprt than for a Republican to win.

Orourke seems to be pretty popular and Cruz is not very popular so it seems Orourke might have a chance. I dont really know much about him though as I dont vote in Texas. I will still be very suprised if he wins, because despite how unpopular Cruz is, Republicans have a long history of circling the wagons to vote party 1st as attempt to stop a Democrat from winning.

There is a extra bit of pressure on Republicans this time around as I think they had to redraw their districts because they were illegally gerrymandered.. (I maybe wrong but I thi k Texas was one of the states that was ruled to be illegally gerrymandered)

I still get a kick out of all these loony Tea Party guys that rode their wave to seats in Congress championing "term limits" and voting out incumbents.. Yet here the same guys are running 10 years later not saying a word about term limits..
