About dirty clinics (as bladeaids calls them)
 

My wife was scratched by a stray cat. Scratched - literally. So she has been taken to a dirty Russian clinic. The municipal one. It was really a dirty one with one toilet to a block and she saws there a cockroach. Sounds like something from the Silent Hill movie... But they did all the possible and impossible analysis including a cardiogram (a faukin' cardiogram - after a cat scratch?), they did all the blood tests etc. They did her anti-rabies and anti-tetanus injections, a serous dose of antibiotics and asked her to stay in the clinic for at least one day, because the meds can cause an anaphylactic shock and the clinic has a personal who know how to deal with that.

On a side note: She didn't pay any ruble to the dirty clinic directly and she doesn't pay anything like Obama care or other bullshit, because she's just a citizen of Russia.

Now you "people of the 1st world" tell me how much these procedures will cost you in case if you will be scratched by a stray cat? Be honest please.

I've just described the situation. My wife is helping to stray animals (physically, with money or anyhow else - via Internet communities for example). That's true. And one cat has scratched her lip. The municipal clinic where she was delivered was a real dirty and yes, she saw a cockroach there. But she has got all the necessary (and unnecessary as I think) analyses and got the treatment for free... Because the doctors have decided there is a danger to her health.

Western health clinics for the majority are only in service as a visual comfort. Most of the money goes towards paying salaries and doctors mainly talk without doing anything constructive. It's one of the biggest scams in modern history and taxpayers should just suck it up...:2 cents:

I was at the Hospital yesterday for a routine check up and my Drs office in near the emergency room. They wheel in and unconscious guy and i watch as an orderly opens the guys wallet and calls out to the admin staff "He has Etna insurance", in the mean time the guy could be dying!! :321GFY

I've been in the er and the hospital several/many times over the last year and that's never been the first thing they ask me or anyone around me. first thing they ask here is always, "what's wrong?"

arouns 8 years ago or so, 5 friends (from Croatia) went on a student trip to usa, one month long trip to travel around on low budget and see a bunch of stuff, they had plane tickets with exact dates and all that

one of them developed a pneumonia, roughly 10 days since arrival and they spent so much money on pills and doctors for that one guy that they returned home hungry because of the expenses


Croatia also got free medicare and it is exploited a lot.. so I can't say I'm up for 100% free but there gotta be a sane balance so you don't go bankrupt just because you had to have a medical procedure of some kind

It is my opinion that there is absolutely no such thing as free health care. I'm originally from the UK, spent 48 years there and had some great health care but it was never free. In the UK on top of tax we pay National Insurance which is based on your income. 20 years ago i paid around £1200 a month NI. Thats around $1600 this went towards medical and pensions.

Even people who did not work or are on disability still had their health care covered by people who did work. So at least in the UK no medical treatment is free, someone pays for it!

I did notice things changed at healthcare businesses when obamacare kicked in and everyone was required to have insurance, the er and hospitals have a person that makes sure patients are insured, and they do ask about insurance early on. but I figured that was due to hospitals need to get paid for their services, ACA is required, they can get both those handled right there right then. people that come into the er without insurance are helped getting it so both are covered. that tends to make sense to me.
