I think she came off as credible and believable while I think he came off like someone who is hiding something. I believe, and this is based on everything leading up to today and including today, that there should be an investigation into this. I don't know what, if anything, will be found, but this guy could sit on the court for 30+ years, it won't kill us to wait a few weeks or even months to confirm him. We should be certain about these people.

If the investigation comes back with nothing of merit, go ahead and confirm him. If it turns something up, then don't.

When the Dems take the house they can hold hearings and bring in witnesses that the republicans wouldn't. Kavanaugh will resign or be impeached

He was personally attacked at the lowest level, almost like trying to kill him really. His family was affected with the worst accusations. This was extremely personal for him and it is 100% political (assuming he is innocent, imagine being him)

I had a friend who was wrongfully accused of rape way way back. We ditched him when he told off a girl who was friends with the accuser. She wanted us to all go somewhere and he didn't want to go because she was there. She got pissy and tried to tell him to be more cool. He snapped and told her to fuck off he didn't want to be around her or any of her friends.
Well that tiny bit of standing up for himself caused us all to say...fuck if he acts like that..maybe he did it and we have to ditch him. Even though we knew the story that night in question we were all there when they left together.

Fast forward a few years..she admits it was a lie and he has successfully sued the shit out of the father of the girl for posting rapist posters of him all over the place forever

Does he embody everything good about our society and justice system? I think you could go any Walmart and find someone with less shot in their past.

Yeah i get it that this could be the case here. But what if it isn't? Should they at least look into it further? If anything it would clear him more if he's innocent.

She surely didn't sound like someone who is making stuff up yesterday. I don't think he sounded guilty either, but the accusation warrants investigation all the same does it not?

After yesterday I think a person has to assume one of three things is happening between these two.

1. Ford was telling the truth and Kavanaugh was lying.

2. Kavanaugh was telling the truth and Ford was lying.

3. Ford was attacked by someone other than Kavanaugh and this is a big case of mistaken identity.

No matter which of the three it ends up being we deserve to know the truth or at least as close to it as we can get.

Why did the Democrats not open an investigation in the first 35 days that Senator Feinstein had the information?

Republicans knew about it before it went public and instead of contacting the FBI they started opposition research on how to smear her.
