Yesterday, DCMS "laid" the Guidance before Parliament for the BBFC. This will now have a few weeks of comment and debate but its unlikely there will be much change. Thankfully, a detailed certification scheme will be offered to AV providers to document their approach to data, security and more. Personally, I love the idea of this ! Still expect a full go live Q1 next year and January will be a crazy month for sign ups !


In addition, the BBFC have today launched their new website dedicated to the age verification law- check it out.

Also, I'm sure I read a couple of months ago that the Conservative (Muslim) Home Secretary has already got even more draconian plans in the works, so we'll likely have to through all of this again in 4 or 5 years time - only it will be even more difficult for the average webmaster to implement.
