Sad! This poor guy is clearly broken up over this. Someone should have educated him on the dangers of pit bulls.

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to Rob Frazier and Angela Smith's Southeast D.C. home located in the 1300 block of Dexter Terrace for a report of a woman mauled by a dog. Police said the animal is a pit bull. His name is Kaine.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a woman suffering from multiple trauma wounds to her body.

WUSA9 caught up with Frazier as he walked out of his gray, brick front home with a red door. As he stood behind a metal fence, he told reporters he exited the home for a short period of time and returned to find his wife dead.

"I left out the house," Frazier paused as he gasped for air, held back tears and started banging on a trash can. "I just left out the house. It was 15 minutes and I came back," he paused and starting banging on the trash can again and said, "She was dead."

He said he spent the last twenty years of his life with her. The couple was on their second year of marriage.

"I got tired of her being a girlfriend or a friend. I wanted her to be a lover, my permanent love," Frazier said as he fought back tears.

"A lot of people didn't know her heart," Frazier said.

Frazier said Smith and the pit bull were "buddies" and he isn't quite sure why the dog attacked her.

"I'm thinking she might have taken some food or something like that from him and he's real aggressive like that, right? Maybe, just maybe, he reacted like that. That's what I'm hoping," said Frazier.

Through his own investigation, Frazier said some things are not adding up, but that he'd rather not speak about alternative scenarios.

His mom was also in the house during the attack, but she said she was sleeping and did not hear anything.

Frazier received the pit bull as a puppy from his nephew. He was 8 years old. Police removed the dog Sunday night after the attack and he was later euthanized.

No additional information has been released at this time.

I love animals and dogs, but these breeds of dog should be banned worldwide until they are removed from the gene pool. I know Australia and about 12 other countries already ban this breed. Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Terriors also need to be banned. Every time we had a problem at a dog park it was these type of dogs. It got to the point where if I saw one, I would grab my dog and go home.

I don't believe they are anymore aggressive than the average dog, but when they flip out they can inflict severe damage with their powerful jaws. A Poodle flips out not much damage is done. :2 cents:

Some people should not own dogs.

1) They knew he was aggressive

2) The owner thought that taking something from the dog would cause an attack.

Dogs 101: If the dog bites at you when you take something away he thinks he's alpha. Straighten that shit out right away. Their dog thought it was alpha in their house for six years, now it's dead and so is one of the owners.

Go on youtube and look up some pit bull attacks. Pits don’t bite, they latch on and do not let go. Just please go watch a few videos. They are not like normal dogs.

BW is right. Some people should not own pitbulls. Personally, I think the whole premise of people being allowed to own pitbulls is a bit off.

Irresponsible people should not own pitbulls. You should have to have a license, and be properly trained.

Dude nobody should own a pit bull. They are escape artists and get loose all the time. And all the training in the world can't stop that DNA. Time to let the breed die off.

well if you want to present statistics you have to have something to compare them to something or they are worthless cherry picked data....

I precisely quoted the amount of people millions of pitbulls kill in the USA every year and it is easily less than what one white trash shooter kills in a day...you then deflected to wounding because the killing looks really really bad for the white trash...
