I was just going to say the same thing. There are both obvious buyers in the space who might pay a substantial premium and most remaining affiliates would even probably be willing to pony up a decent amount. I can't imagine how much they'd have to ask to be unable to sell.

Good! This should have happened 20 years ago!

When Ifriends started I knew a lot of girls, most of them single mothers, trying to make a buck and they were all lining up to be cam girls. Well Ifriends brought in that "voyeur view" that gave away for free the webcam shows and those girls got screwed over for a living.


I'm (was) an old school pornographer and was making smut before most of today's industry were even born. On the best of days like me were greasy at best and total scumbags at worst but the rules were simple..

1. You give nothing away for free. A man wants to jerk off he's going to pay for it because he's no different than a hooker's trick.

2. A producer could be the biggest piece of shit on earth but you never fuck over anyone for the money.

Far too many of the ** Internet Porn Boys ** have never filmed smut and/or they've never fucked in front of the camera. They throw up a platform and then they sucker others into working for them for free. Honestly someone needs to dig a hole in the desert for these self-important ass wipes.

stealing from someone to make money is a different thing - but according to your logic there would have never been cars just to protect blacksmiths...

They mention ''legislative developments' and 'costly patent litigation' on the closure page, maybe they got issues with law enforcement or got sued and their only option was to close down to get out of it.

Very strange, they could easily have sold for a lot of money, so it must have been something pretty serious for them to just close shop out of the blue.

This... or the head shits finally just gave up. They stopped competing years ago.

I imagine their decision to close had something to do with Flash being exterminated (soon) and the cost/hassle of properly converting everything over to HTML5.

iFriends was limping along on old ideas, old programming, and old technology (as they have since ~2007-2008). And since they waited so long, the expense of upgrading to a competitive level would have been prohibitive -- especially since they averaged only 50-60 models online at a time -- down from 2000+ a decade ago.

It's a shame that the industry's top dawg couldn't/wouldn't compete against fledgling upstarts like MFC and CB. It was clear that the game was changing. But iFriends refused (for years) to adapt.

Sad.
