Do you like windows 10?

I was happy to use win7 for long time until i decided to upgrade my PC.
I've bought HDD 4tb, and was surprised that my windows7 does not support that :( coz my motherboard is goddamn old(( I am starting to think about buying new motherboard, new processor, and new RAM too (i spend much and much time in video editing)

So my friend told my that win7 doesn't support new processors too! Because MS force its Win10 to all users(
I tried to use and set up win10 on laptop of my gf and that was realy terrible: lots of notifications, updates, reboots! reboots, and more reboots that i couldn't cancel.

So i am thinking about alternatives.
I do not want to install win10, i want clear comfort OS like win7 that supports i7, large HDD etc..
Does Anyone can give me advice what to do?
Thanks

You can't just upgrade a processor nowadays without also replacing the ram and motherboard.

I've been using Windows 10 since shortly after it came out. It's super smooth and no problems ever.

I remember the days of Windows 95 and how impossible everything was, and all of the problems.

SIK 10-20-2018 09:49 AM

I'm using windows 10 for a year now and still not used to it :(

pimpmaster9000 10-20-2018 10:29 AM

Windows 10 is fine except for those auto updates.

Yep, and on latest update they literally ask you it is ok to keylog your action in order to improve "your langauge accuracy" and to read your browser history in order to "speed up browsing". I am glad i use win 10 only for games and nothing else, so they can spy as much they want.

artwilliams 10-20-2018 11:41 AM

I dual boot Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Windows 10. I only use Windows 10 to test in Internet Explorer and for games. Ubuntu Linux has [almost] everything I need.

If it is time for a new windows, it is time for a new dekstop/laptop also.
Always fucked up to install on an old computer, will take hours to fix things.
With and SSD is better than hdd.
And also need Office 2016 cause olders doesn't work well on 10.

I work with 10 for 2 years, never had a problem.

I Agree with it 100%

I 've recently purchased a laptop with win 10 . Terrible experience, can't get used to it, I feel limited and without control.

Of course, that's the first thing to do.

I'm mostly an Apple fan-boy, but I'll say that Windows 10 is pretty good. It's much better than all previous versions of Windows thats for sure. It's fast and has a nice interface. Go for it.

I and my wife are having battery issues on both our laptops. I fully blame a Win 10 upgrade to be the cause.

dillfly2000 10-20-2018 06:51 PM

I've had one issue with the fall update, I installed the wrong pro version of windows which the update had trouble supporting. Pretty much bricked my PC and lost everything. Luckily I didn't have everything migrated to this PC, still lost a bunch of work. Works great now after reinstall.

no problems here with win 10, just get a new pc, & no need for buying separates unless you´re going for top quality stuff, dell, acer, even a microsoft pc are good these days...

and reasonable priced for i7, 1tb & with acer, they don´t come with dvd drive, as you can buy an outdrive, but the room is ready for you to slide in a ssd if you want!

With our Acer laptop, they´re so convenient, they didn´t even use both slots, so we have 8gb ram and there´s another slot, save buying 2 8gb ram for upgrade, you just buy the one... :thumbsup

that sounds quite stupid this way... you say win7 didn't recognize your hdd because your motherboard is old... then you say win7 doesn't support new hardware, lol

I bought a whole new PC last year, has a 3TB hdd besides the ssd, WIN7 has no problem with it or anything else...

those are the most fucking annoying things... like would they let me decide what type of fucking OS I'm installing... you pay a bunch of money for new shit then you find out you are limited as fuck

Darkcrni 10-22-2018 03:18 AM

win 10 is one huge fucking spyware........am using win7 and happy!

bronco67 10-22-2018 05:38 AM

I've had 100 blue screen crashes since using Windows 10.

I had zero BSOD while using win 7 for many years.

I'm on the verge of upgrading my hardware and seriously considering going back to Win 7.

Also, the constant upgrading is a pain in the ass and sometimes they end up breaking shit.
