Question about these here modern mobile banking apps...

In the old days you sent someone a check in the post and you knew they had been paid when the money disappeared from your account. These days people want direct transfers from mobile apps and give you their bank number and sort code (routing number)

So you pay them via your mobile app and the money disappears, but you get no 'proof' that they were actually paid?

Or am I missing something? :helpme

I always get a confirmation number immediately after clicking submit. That's your confirmation poop it's been paid.

Yes, yes. Makes perfect sense. I never thought of doing it that way :)

I try not to do ANY banking on my phone if I can avoid it. I don't fully trust the security yet.

Yeah, I felt that way for a long time, but it seems these days that everyone is doing it and expecting it, and what with both of the banks I use closing thier branches in my town, I figured it's time for me to bite the bullet, put some trust in the apps I'm provided with, and get with the program :)

I don't use banking apps since I got smart and left wells fargo. Now I bank with a bank that is more local to Indiana and I pay with either Paypal or my debit card.
