Texas ex-firefighter headed to prison for threatening his black neighbors with hanged baby dolls

A former firefighter is headed to federal prison for threatening his black neighbors by hanging baby dolls outside of their apartment.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that 64-year-old Glenn Eugene Halfin will spend a year in a federal institution after pleading guilty to a hate crime charge earlier in the year.

Halfin’s lawyer argued that his client is “not a racist” and that he hung the dolls outside the apartment of his upstairs neighbors — whose daughter was an infant at the time — due to a noise dispute. According to court records, the man also egged his neighbors’ car and “spread feces inside” of it.

Halfin reportedly threw a noose onto their balcony and hung dolls outside of their apartment twice.

The neighbors also poured dog feces and urine on his head from the upper porch. Apparently they were harassing him, too, though who started first is interpretative. But they weren't equal in crimes. His is racist and they're just nasty.

If someone does something wrong, whether the person be black, Muslim, Jewish, or whatever group they may identify with, we can always say with absolute confidence and certainty that lone actions by misguided individuals do not reflect those entire groups.

As liberated, free-thinking individuals, we are proudly above such abhorrent, narrow-minded generalizations. These lines of thought are the seeds that spawn such things as racism, slavery, the Holocaust, and every bad thing that has never had any place in any society.

However, if I don't agree with a group politically (i.e. oh, I don't know, TRUMP SUPPORTERS!) then its perfectly ok to generalize all of them for the actions of even ONE of them. I think this is the message Blade is trying to hammer into our psyches with all these "Trump supporter" threads. And I think its good, because nothing bad ever came from generalizing groups of people.

Yesterday’s story was it was poured on his head. This I found now on a quick search.
